Hi people's

I am coming up in may 60 and was thinking about taking my pension from working in local government. Will this affect my pip and income support. Its making me ill worry about it. I am getting worse with sleep i have been awake since 1am . It really is affecting my whole day.

PIP is not Means Tested, and is only affected by how you do everyday things (Making Tea, cooking, walking etc). But be warned Income Support could be affected by the pension you receive, (plus any lump sum payment) on retirement. You really need to speak to a Benefits Expert or an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA), but bear in mind an IFA may charge for his advice.

Ta. I've been told not to take a lump sum. They have offered a lump sum plus a monthly allowance.
