The best person for general advice would be your GP (general practitioner). If you have a specific query about a pain or symptom or how to get relief from something more specific, then it is best to ask your rheumy nurse, or post on here, but for general advice, as none of us, here, knows you, and we are not GPs, just sufferers of multiple aches, pains and illnesses (some with names, some without), you would always be best using your own medics first. Anyway, welcome to the site, and we look forward to hearing or reading more about you in the future.
Thanks for replying, I have rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, had a triple bypass and a mechanical valve put in my heart, full hysterectomy because of early stage cancer, my knees and hips dislocate, spinal stenosis, hyperkinetic movement disorder. So alot has happened, I'm 46 never been overweight, look after myself, I play and coach wheelchair basketball. I just want to know what way other people have deal with the day to day, what's been helpful etc, well aware no one here is medically trained.
Wow that is a huge list of devastating conditions. I’ve a few from your list and others as well. I’m curious to know how they concluded you had fibromyalgia given the scope of the other conditions is likely to replicate those of fibromyalgia? In my experience the GPs use that diagnosis as a barrier to further testing for undiagnosed conditions.
In regard to what works best for fibromyalgia there is no simple answer. People have differing reactions to medications and what helps some does not help others. Obviously with your other problems the safest bet would be to see your GP for advice.
