Hi.allday a have pain coming from bowel/tummy.reflux coming up as well.doc said it is ibs & cannot do much about it.funny thing is,it can cause pain anywhere.arms,shoulders,neck,chest,legs.ive had an ultrasound done which came back normal.i suggested fibro to the doc who got a little angry & said im doing this to myself with stress!!!.im a 60 year old man who has lived with illness for 25 years so i know when my health changes.ive noticed on here that this happens a lot with docs who dont recognise fibro.we all know everything is connected but wondering if any off you guys suffer the same travelling pain as me.thanks in advance...

This could be a brain muscle control problem. See an Alexander Teacher. Medical professionals have very little if any understanding of how muscle behaviour can cause pain. When we start to reach 60 and above things don't work like they used to. This results in the need to learn skills to cope with they do not work like they used to. And to devise strategies to obtain the best quality of life possible.

Hi very frustrating for you Courier. If ypu live in Uk ask to see another GP and then get digestive referral. Its your body and you are right when something changes you get it checked out. My IBS fluctuates. I use Colpermin and Alverine and Fybrogel. Stress does play a huge part on digestives. Try the deep breathing and relaxing techniques nhs.uk/conditions/stress-an...

My say see another GP.

Stop ALL gluten, ALL dairy ALL Soy for a month, also oats barley rye, no fried food no onions,, no tomatoes and watch processed meat things like sausages can be loaded with wheat products. In fact the more you stop the better and start adding back one food at a time every few days writeing everything down as you go and noting any changes to stomach beheaviour.

Simple baked sweet potato with a bit of coconut oil and salt is surprisingly good. Most veg is fine but watch tomato onion celery and add in one at a time when all settels. It takes a bit of forward thinking as you can no longer just grab something in some cafe or burger joint or KFC,, the fruit shop is your friend,, stews and soups,, fresh made and not out of a tin,,, nothing out of a tin as it is usualy rubbish loaded with fillers such as flours and thickeners. Chocolate, buiscuits, buns and cakes are also out the window.

If you start PPI meds to reduce stomach acid you are asking for problems,, when you muck with stomach acidity you will change the bacteria in the gut,, not to mention non absorbsion of all minerals the stomach is an acidic environment for a few reasons.

If you use Colpermin which is just peppermint and quite harmless in and of it's self,,,,,,, but it can and dose relax the lower esophageal sphincter,, result acid refluxing!

Don't do the drugs unless you have to,, diet changes are only difficult at first.

Been there bought the teeshirt!

Best wishes, Ray
