Perhaps it's easier for others to see what is prodomonant in someone,, rather like the famous poem by Robbie Burnes:
“O, wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as others see us!
It wad frae monie a blunder free us,
An' foolish notion.
Interesting ... well I’m mainly right brained, particularly disorganisation, imaginative story telling, art and handicrafts, with a left brain love of scientific studies minus the tricky maths (of course) 😂
And me. Ambidextrous, a PhD in the sciences and love physics and math and have been an artist since a child and written poems since I could write. I think we are lucky those of us who routinely access both sides.
similar in percentage terms and the amount of IT people that prefer fiction is too many to count. May not be the D&D stereotype but it did have to come from somewhere.
Also got to wonder about brain remapping and how this plays a part. Bit too simplistic and I think will go the way of phrenology as we understand more
I have noted the phenomena of IT Fiction Fantacy reading involvment with many people I know in the field,,, and while they are all have bewildering mind power, there is not one that would let loose to choose furniture or colour coordinate a room. In fact it's usualy something they ask for my assitance with,,, but inevitably they get some bright idea that just manages to stick out like a sore thumb!
Well I’m left handed, I’m told very artistic and creative, good at English, but not a lover of maths, yes very planned/orderly(apart from when the Fibro strikes) , ,quite emotional if I think people are being nasty, can be very absent minded now, oh dear which side do I fit the most ha ha, but interesting to read the replies from members to take our mind off things , think I’m an all rounder like my friend Dizzytwo😀
Left handed would mean you are right sided brain and right handed left hand brain. If you see what I mean .....
In medicine, a CVA (commonly known as a stroke) if you are right handed and cannot hold a pen/ write due to the CVA - you would have had damage to left side. So what hand you write (or do any task with) with usually corresponds to the opposite of the brain - so guessing you’d fall mainly be right sided !
Think we're over thinking this one,, it's how you think I'm getting at.
While the signals cross at the Pons (botom part of the brain where nerves conect to the spinal cord) it really is not going change "how" we think or if we are more artistic or mathmatical in our thoughts and thinking processes as it dose not involve the nerve fibers or neurons in the spinal cord controling motor functions.

It's like anthropomorphizing something. Justifications are meaningless..... Now where is my horoscope for the day.
I understand, I was just pointing out that what hand you write with does not correspond with the same side of your brain but the opposite. I thought people were thinking that if they are left handed this means that they should be left on the brain chart you've given when the opposite is true - I believe people are confusing what hand they write with
When it comes to brain function, nerves, neural pathways, dendrites, synapses, neurotransmiters, sympathetic, parasympathetic, motor, senosry, upper and lower most find it all a bit confusing.
Actually it does influence our coordination. I frequently draw complex black and white line drawings with either hand. but I paint with my right hand unless I want to create something not so influenced by cerebral input.
However, I sometimes get confused about which hand I should knit with.
Bodega It's all really quite amazing, I don't really think it will be fully comprehended,,, at least not while Newtonian thinking dominates ,,, but that's just my right brain nature comming out.
I’m left too and right handed incidentally - as explained above this is the rule of thumb in regards to medicine and neurology. Ambidextrous maybe different and a mixture both I suppose!
Hi Lolacat you have been through the mill lately you poor thing. I find it all really frustrating with the medical profession. I have Fibro also have prolapsed disc in neck causing nerves to be pinched and cervical radiculopathy. Stenosis to thoracic spine causing pain around ribs top of with disc prolapse L6 S1causing more pain. You feel like you are banging your head against a brick wall to try and get anything sorted. I have moved recently so waiting for pain clinic appointment so I can start all over again! I have exercises for my neck back and goodness knows where-else I will be all day doing these. All we want is to be “normal “ again ie before Fibro which I know will never happen. I think you will have to join dots yourself and keep on at them its the only way they will listen. Frustrating as hell! Take care and hope you get something sorted x
You have far too much time on your hands! Whichever side of my brain it is is now hurting😜 let's all take a tramadol and lie in a dark room 😂😂 gentle cerebral hugs everyone ♥️
Betty,, the life of right brained person is not an easy path,, nothing is ever simple,, and when you mix it with the fog,,, well it a recipy to send anyone spining into a tizzy.
Extremely right brained! I had a head injury 11 years ago to left side of head and now find anything left brain challenging boring and limited. Doing a fine art degree at age 64 after being science based before! The fibromyalgia plus other autoimmune things started after my accident.
Naturegirl,, I can't claim to ever have been dropped on my head but I am so right brained it's not true,, it has always been both a blessing and a curse.
I am curious about everything in life,, but always see it from an artistic or spiritual pespective,,nothing is ever black or white,, but my intuitition is amazing!
although I write left handed - if I use a golf club, cricket bat, tennis racket etc then it's right handed. Interesting my father who was right handed for writing, used left hand when playing sport. Then again I know I am far from normal....
Dinkie,, your definatly a prodomonate right,,, a left just wouldn't think like that,, you auctualy remind me of me the way you went through that,,, anyway who wants to be normal an eccentric life is far more intresting!
Your understandably still traumatised Dinkie,, perhaps a bit of moonbathing may help or some of that re-birthing therapy where they wrap you in a duvet and you have to find your way out into the world to get you bottom slapped again,,, it's suposed to be good especialy when the waters break!
my therapist had me put all my troubles on a leaf and watch it float down the river - all I could imagine was some well meaning beaver grabbing the rather large leaf needed and stuffing it into a dam where it would stay and gather yet more troubles!!! yep there's another hour of my life I shall never get back again 😂🤣😱😜😱
I worry about the flooding caused by the dam - all those riverbank dwelling critters, what about poor moley and ratty and the watervoles. Toad is ok he will survive - his car may sink however. Why the therapists couldn't just tell me to write down my worries and give them to the worry monster to eat I don't know
The left right hand theory don't work in my case,, I'm all right sided,, right brain,, right hand,,, at least I know somethings right!
This chart is interesting Thankyou. I went to a boarding school from on age eight to thirteen , and they did their very best to try to make me eat right handed. 🙄
