Is anyone else experiencing a don’t care attitude from their health professionals. My gp just brushes me off and when I see a locum they are positively rude too me. I now don’t even bother going to see them. I have pernicious anemia and fibromyalgia plus arthritis I just feel so angry the last locum actually said so what do you want me to do. I actually wonder if some body has put a note on my file. I did put in a complaint about a gp who was positively rude and had reduced me too tears. Surely that is not held against me

God knows. I feel rushed and forget things when in with a g.p. Nit the care anymore. feel like g.p.s are in piecwork. can never get an appointment and last 2 times, have had a phone call appointment. at last, i have got one for tomorrow and i know i have to be assertive, write things down. About time g.p.s. got some compassion and understanding. xx
I know when I eventually saw my own gp when I was leaving I said see you again A comment that I say too many people when I am leaving them, he smirked and said yea I bet sooner rather than later So I don’t go now. I now that sounds trivial but it was the straw that broke the camels back. Just had enough really it’s bad enough struggling with these conditions without having to put up with this x
Yes i agree. i have mental health problems aswell and i think that goes against me. i was a hypochondriac as i am an awful worrier and i try not to go to g.p. much now but my stimach is so hard and bloated plus i put 3 stine if weight in all if a sudden a couple if years ago. weight went in my stomach and i look pregnant. i managed to gey my appointment tomorrow due to me saying about vision disturbances and feeling i am falling to the left when sitting down. good job or i would be on the floor. xx
Read what I posted today. I know the feeling a bit too well. It's crushing and demoralising.
The times people do treat me as a mature adult who knows their body, are the times I feel a bit better. The rest just make me feel worse.
Yeap, I went in about a pain/swelling just above my waist on the left-hand side (ribs), the GP said "It's probably a flare up", puts that I don't like painkillers on my summary, no idea why because I don't recall saying it, my Son was there with me and he doesn't recall me saying it either, I actually said something like "painkillers don't really help fibro pain, do they?" do which she responded "no", so how is that me saying I don't like painkillers? but then again who on earth does like taking meds of any kind?
I would go on but I'd end up ranting. I've not long responded to the assistant practice managers, waiting for her to get back to me.
Yes I hear you- I have an appt. today with my OWN GP after I made a complaint in december about a similar issue..a locum stopped my low dose HRT and insisted I go for a womb scan, had she looked more into my notes under GYNEA she would have seen one was done BEFORE I was changed onto low dose,, trouble is 7 minute appt,s and in between are not enough time to look at a patients notes and then see them, I am going to post a msg today see if you agree with me..
Ok I will look forward too it Mine insisted on sending me to the hospital as she thought I was having an angina attack. I kept repeating my symptoms which had nothing to do with chest pain. I knew what it was and just wanted the medication. All the time she was talking to me she was so rude and condescending. So, I went to the hospital my heart was strong and healthy they were not amused that she had sent me and had used up valuable time They said they were going too write to the surgery but I don’t know if they did x
I recently left the NHS because of comments from the receptionists and having my medical records relayed to every Tom Dick and Harry including my next door neighbour. I left to make a complaint and yes I expect they will hold it against you and that is why I left. There are plenty of private GP’s who you can pay but I warn you that some of them will take your money and insult you too so choose wisely. At least you never need return to them.
So sorry to hear these complaints. I too have been having problems at my GP surgery. I’ve been with them for 20 years and a company took it over about 8 years ago. It’s gone downhill since then.
This is all wrong. Tell the GP practice you want to see your notes. This will do several things a) Firstly, show you mean business! You have a legal right to see your notes.
B) will make them think about how they have been treating you - there is collective responsibility in the practice and they know it.
And C) perhaps the best of all - will leave them guessing what you intend to do next!
Peace!
Thank you I have discussed this with my partner But dosent this also give them chance to change their notes before releasing them x
Ask for a copy of your records, I did after sensing bad vibes from descend nurses, what I read led to me reporting a nurse to the nmc. She had put an alert on my patient care record saying I become aggressive when refused meds, the lies she told about me were malicious, to the point they have affected my health care and treatment. Just lucky that my existing to notes prove she is a malicious liar.
