Hi everyone , I just recently been told that i suffer from fibromyalgia, long story short , for 5 months now I have non stop stabbing pain in both my legs , ankles , thighs, knees, its there 24/7 sometimes is mild other times it's so painful literally my whole body twitches. About a month ago it started to be really bad .The pain moved up to my upper body , my arms fingers , neck, shoulders , it was unrealistic pain . Burning , stabbing , shouting, aching at the same time. Not gonna lie , I was scared never imagined it is possible to experience anything like this. In the past 3 weeks I couldn't move my fingers , my arms properly. I felt sorry for myself , but the worst is I can't even show my pain , don't want to put extra burden on the people who I love , I have noone to talk about how I really feel. And to top my past "amazing" month. Just about i started to feel moderate pain , (with I considered a big win) Head aches started , , I am so tired , for no reason , and my concentration , my focus. Just isn't functioning. My anxiety flares.
Just wondering when is it gonna get easier ?
PS: I do apologize for my grammar , English is my second language

I am sorry to hear all that you are going through . I am equally sorry I don't think I can give you the answer you are looking for.
All I can say is that everyone has different degrees of fibro with different pain levels or conditions and that usually are combined with another illness ..
You should get times where the pain subsides enough to let you breath a sigh of relief for a few days to a week every now and then but as to wether in your case it will happen or not it hard to tell...so I'm sorry to say that you just have to run with it and play it and see what happen .... I sincerely hope everything gets better for you soon and you get to be pain free as soon as possible ... I hope I've made sense ..
There are a lot of us here going through similar symptoms . Some of us it most of us don't just have fibro we have another illness too . Mine being Sjögren's syndrome .... as fibro doesn't usually come alone ...
I sincerely hope that you find the answers it some comfort in the replies you receive .. xx
I already suffer from ventricular septal defect (hole in the heart) witch is present since birth . i was diagnosed with chronic headaches , and dizzyness around the age 9 , always been sensitive to noise , light , pain ... They blamed everything on my heart condition. Well I guess this 2 are going hand in hand, plus stress witch makes everything 100 times worst.
How annoying it is when they say do not stress.
Try to avoid stress... Easy to say..
Really just trying to understand what my body tries to tell me at this point .
Just one question is anyone else Emotionally extremely sensitive to? Or is it just my nature ?
I go through phases of being so emotional ... my doctors forever playing around with my anti depressants ... but yeah I have emotional days where I cry for no reason ..,,xx
Unfortunately you ask a question none of us can answer, but on a positive note you may find one of the following helpful although as fibro symptoms are different for all of us some may help others may not.
Epsom salts in the bath. This will help ease muscle pain.
heat pads and hot water bottles
biofreeze gel
diet - I removed all processed foods and all refined sugars and although I am not pain free it did much to lessen the pain. If I stray from this, for example have a night out in a restaurant etc I can definitely feel the difference.
Gentle exercise - even a stroll down the garden. I need to get outside at least once a day.
CBT - ask your doctor about this or maybe your area offer a self referral service.
If in UK perhaps you can get a referral to somewhere like Guys Hospital's fibro clinic but there are other clinics too.
Pain clinic - these clinics help with pain management and your reaction to pain.
I use hypnotherapy and chiropractor as and when I can afford it.
Supplements - I use these as I cannot use prescription drugs.
I really appreciate you taking your time to help me with these suggestions. l already cut meat , coffee , alcohol, gluten , out of my diet couple of weeks ago ,
No I'll start leaving sugar for at least 3-4 months to see how it will effect me . I'll will try the other tips as well Fingers crossed
You are welcome. I eat minimal gluten but am a fan of freshly cooked bread! All you can do is try things out. I found out by accident about the diet bit. The other half had two major heart attacks and we had to do a complete overhaul of our lifestyle to help keep him going. Win win situation for both of us. Any questions just post and someone will offer some suggestions.
