Hi there just me personally I’ve found joint pain has increased I am 57, not very nice waking up from the pain for you, I wonder if a trip to see doctor he can review any meds you might be on to ease pain ?? I do use creams like deep heat and some are like a cold gel so does not burn differently warm bath with epsom salts . Hot water bottle/wheat bag at night when resting, but I wish you well I am posting a link which might help in locking your posts healthunlocked.com/fibromya... x

Hi hun- I get mostly muscle pains it feels like joint pain but its the tip of the muscles that are attached to the bone that give off joint pin,, have you ever has a steroid injection for this?? I used to have an intra muscular injection of Kenalog, it a strong steroid that services the whole body, it gives energy, kills pain and I felt an enourmous lift, I kept on working whilst I was allowed this but once it was stopped via muscle I had to stop working I do still have joint injections of the stuff because it only services the area and not into the blood stream as via a muscle does. You could maybe ask about it, see if your gp would oblige, you get a prescription for the ampoule and then take it back for injection.

Hi there, I found that all my pain increased at this age, especially joint pain. I spoke to the rheumatologist about it and he said he sees this all the time and that fibro symptoms in women tend to increase around menopausal age. He said females are often diagnosed either in their twenties or fifties. Just a thought, take care X

I now realise I probably had fibro symptoms as a child, especially the costochondritis, which I complained about and cried over as a very young child ( 5-6 years old) My parents told me it wasn't possible to have such pain and to stop looking for attention. ....

I think I had bouts of it flaring up as a teenager and for a few years after I had glandular fever in my 20s.

Seemed to get worse after my husband died suddenly but I thought it was grief, and then aged 60 it became a permanent fixture.

I'm trying to track what causes flares and have it down to changes in weather and emotional distress. Can't do anything about the weather but aiming to sell up, move somewhere cheaper to reduce stress.

I also worked on finding what helps most during a flare and work on a " treat the symptoms" basis, bit old fashioned, I remember it from a basic pre-nursing course 40 years ago but it works.
