Hi everyone. I am so glad to have found this site. I have had FMA for quite a while now but it was masked by the amount of pain killers I was on due to a bad back. I had an op over a year ago now on my back and after a month or so fibro reared it's ugly head. I have good days and bad days, my doctor is brilliant and understanding but it is so nice to find people who know exactly how I feel. There are days when my meds don't seem to work and the last few days I have been so down, maybe as I have now got a cold and everything hurts. Also I have now been told I may have carpel tunnel syndrome, what next? I just want to feel normal :-(. Does anyone else feel like this?

Hi all My main question is below xxx
Hiya Pinkpig,
Welcome to the group. Sorry you have fibro and had to have back surgery.
I think everyone on here will come on and say yes, we all feel like that. So, we come on here every day and have a moan or a cry or a laugh and it's great.
Have a look on the FibroAction website on the right of the homepage, it's a brilliant site with lots of info and also a lot of help on the blogs and questions.
Do you get fibro fog too? I've got that at the moment, I'm really tired and possibly not making alot of sense.
Sue xx
Hi Sue thank you, it is soooo nice to have found somewhere to talk things over and know the everyone feels the same as you. Yes I do get fibro fog. I am in bed most nights at 9 as that's where I am most comfortable. I am on Gabapentin and strong pain releif at bedtime, have 9-10 hours sleep and still wake up feeling like I haven't slept! I know how you feel xxxx
Hi Pinkypig,
Welcome to this wonderful site everyone is so friendly I have only been on it a short time. I know exactly what you are going through, I remember when i was first diagnosed if someone had dropped a £10 note in front of me I would not have been able to pick it up as I wouldn't have got back up!!!! Be kind to yourself and its excellent that like myself you have a good doctor.
We are always here to help with any problems Pinkpig
Gentle Hugs x x
Thank you, hugs back xxxx I am lucky that I run my own dog walking company and so can get up and get ready to face the world slowly! Gentle walks each day helps my back and loosens me up but I soon stiffen up and ache. Gabapentin helps but I am still increasing it at the mo. Isn't it nice to have a doc that is there for you? xxxx
hi and welcome on here i hope to chat toyou again soon i am sure you will find the site helpful love to you diddle x
Thanks Diddle,, I look forward to it xxxxx
Hello and welcome pinkpig, great to have you here with us. I can completely relate to how you feel, I felt like that to start with. I felt like a human guinea pig with the medications I was prescribed. They changed so many times, so many side effects too. Once you find the correct level of meds and the right type for your condition, things should settle down and you should start to feel better. I felt hopeless and lost because I couldn't relate at all to how I was feeling. Stick with it, it does get better, the more we come to terms with Fibro the better we deal with it. I too have a great GP, that is such a bonus isn't it. You will find reading posts in our lovely forum that we all understand because we all felt the same. Anything you are unsure of or worried about, just post a message and we are always here to help and hopefully offer you the support you need or point you in the right direction.
Thank you, all the responses have been so lovely, it made me cry. It is so wonderful to find a group of friendly loving people who you know won't judge you. I have good friends but I sometimes think they do wonder if I make it up as from the outside we look fine. I will defo be on here everyday thank you x
Beautiful area I have 2 westies and they go to a lady for "creche" when I have to go somewhere, and when we go on holiday too she has her own Petsitting service.
It is the perfect job. If I don't feel too good I go and play with the dogs instead. My clients are very understanding. Animals are a great stress reliever!
I couldn't agree more with you, my westies are soooo good, they seem to totally understand when I can't put one foot in front of another and they love snuggling up to me x x
My dog is just the same xxxxx
Hello - I had carpal tunnel release surgery on both hands about 18 months ago. My hands are much better now. Good luck and I hope you get some constructive advice from your doc soon
