It’s great track (1984), written about the murder of John Lennon, but you’re right, the last verse could apply to fibro, or any life changing condition. 👍
I found acceptance has helped, because it’s given me a sense of hope. I’m able now to gently exercise, which helps a bit with the pain on moving, though I still need a wheelchair to go out and about.
I love David Gilmour’s 2015 album Rattle That Lock, with the lyrics by his wife, Polly Samson. The lyrics “Rattle that lock, lose those chains” could also apply to fibro, especially as it’s a track about hell.!
It’s based on Milton’s Paradise Lost Book 2, which I did at school in the ‘70’s. I thought at the time would make a great rock opera with The Who, what with the fallen angels and all the fire!!! 🔥 😂
I’m a big Pink Floyd and David Gilmour fan, though I’ve never seen him or them live. My son has seen David Gilmour several times, and is probably a bigger fan than me, having been raised listening to Pink Floyd! x 🙂
