Is it normal for people with fibromyalgia to have a low immune system please? Where my little girl can come home with the common cold it can annihilate me, I hate being so weak! When I try reading up on it, it's generally something associated with diabetes or aids ( I don't have either ) just wondered if it's normal please?

Hi there for me personally I can go down with things quicker from the grandchildren when coming in house with germs , I seem to take longer to pick up as well than people around me without this condition. I hope you get lots of feed back from our members , if you would like to lock your posts this normally helps too here’s the link healthunlocked.com/fibromya... x
I also have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis along with the fibromyalgia which means I have an over active immune system and tend not to catch anything from anybody. The whole of my house had that awful flu last xmas and I was the only one who didn’t get it. On the odd occasion I do catch something then it does seem to take longer than normal to get better x
Hi Lorna. Ive found that due to having hypothyroidism and fibro, my immune system is already compromised. i therefore catch colds and the like very easily. Im only 50, but due to these conditions, i get the flu vaccination free to which it does help with the symptoms a bit. Regards
Peder.
I have had Fibro for over 30 years and I have to be honest I very rarely pick up any normal illnesses like colds or flu xx

I catch everything, and it takes me longer to get better than most people.
