Hi has anyone had trouble with their teeth with fibromyalgia?
I had to have one out last year and now the dentist is telling me I might loose my front tooth which is a veneer. He suggested an implant but I ‘m worried the nerves will not accept it.
Thanks in anticipation

Not that I would put it down to Fibromyalgia having one out as tricky to fill and bit of food trap, wisdom but rest ok. Can not have implants as can not have metal allergic so can not have replacement joints ever love life 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤪🤫
Yes l have had a lot of problems with my teeth lm not sure loosing teeth is connected to fibromyalgia but l do believe the pain l experience in regards to my teeth is worse as l feel having fibromyalgia makes the pain worse as my pain threshold is high...l see a specialist dental service and the experience has been not good the last tooth l had taken out it took me two weeks to recover the pain was so bad l felt like l was losing my mind...l had to go back twice and the dentist injected antibiotics into the socket still lots of pain...l do feel for you good luck l hope it goes okay
Hi yes I have lost 4 teeth through my fibromyalgia I have a fantastic dentist who suffers herself, but it’s awful the last tooth was really painful and was infected but like yourself my front veneer is lose I have had X-rays and the bone is disappearing 😢 so I can’t have implants and I feel I am talking different it’s never ending 😣
I had a top front tooth with a veneer, which had been root filled 3 times, unsuccessfully, which was still giving me problems and pain, so I eventually had it taken out and I decided to have a denture (which is just one tooth fitted to a palate which sits on the roof of my mouth) and it has been great, I just take it out in the evenings when I clean my teeth and replace it in the morning and it is very comfortable. (I really didn't like the idea of having an implant!!)
I would definitely explore other options to an implant and listen to the advice of your dentist. Also, a denture was much cheaper than an implant!! Hope it goes well for you xxx
Hi Bonny12346. Yes I have lost all my top teeth! It happened a few years ago now but I am still gutted over it. I had nice teeth but chips started coming off them, it was a horrible feeling and experience a d I've never got over it. I have dentures now and absolutely hate them! They feel too heavy and make me gag, especially when getting them out with the crap you have to put on them to keep them in. My dentist removed them but apparently he shouldn't have, he should have sent me to a specialist, if he had I might still have had my teeth.
Yes I have had so many problems, had root canal, still pain, tooth out, still pain, the pain is not all the time and I think it’s down to the nerves. Have adrenaline free injections, they do not cause adrenaline and much better, had this and the dentist forgot one time, I did not know til my heart started racing and felt dizzy, asked if it was the adrenaline free injection told yes, but then he was putting the oxygen peg on my finger and looking into my eyes, so this was not in my imagination, I was ok but not nice
Yes I've lost six good teeth.just went loose and fell out....I blame the fibro. The dentist said there is no gum disease and no reason they are falling out...dentist is to rough with me. I keep telling him off.
How are your vitamin D levels ladies? I was losing a tooth a year until I sorted out my vitamin D and got it up from 10 to just over 100. Dentist now very happy and teeth and gums fine.
Loss of teeth also goes along with low levels of thyroid hormone, so it would be worth getting that checked as well.
Yes - ask for Thyroid Function blood tests and Thyroid Antibodies blood tests. Along with levels of Vitamin D, Calcium, B12 , Folate and Ferritin blood tests.
I currently have 5 teeth the have either chipped or fell in half , not sure if its due to medication , dry mouth or what. Never had these kind of issues before fibro.
Having problems with my teeth just had one redrilled out as have abcess but think it's a come out job soon.
Gums going my Dentist said have many with fibro and teeth issues.
But much of this is connected as have a prolactinoma which dentistry hospital said can be part of it so needs checking again as links to thyroid and other things as things keep Vit D for one up and vit D keeps other things up all needs a balance.
Yet Quacks think thyroid for one just sits on a shelf by it's self! like an ornament
