I just keep hoping the fibro will go away. Guess not. Lately my whole back and chest just burn. Especially if used those muscles in my gentle yoga. And wearing a bra is awful. Anyone also have this and any help is great. I just take Advil and kratom.

Happy Fathers Day to all you dad and big fibro hugs to all.

So sorry to read your post you are not alone in this as I've hadn it for 7 years now and had to give up wearing a bra as it is just too painful. Pregablin has helped with the burning, shooting pains mostly experienced across my back and they are definitely not so intense now but patches are really tender and during a flare those are the areas of my body that are always the worse.

Many of us have something called costochonditis where the muscles and tissues supporting the rib cage becomes inflamed. Sometimes an anti-inflammatory drug such as Ibprophen can help and if some patches are worse lidocaine patches can help take the worse burning effect off. Try to just do gentle movements when it is at its worse especially try not to stretch up or carry anything heavy. A soak in a warm bath with Epsom salts added can help relax those muscles a d some people find a freeze gel gently smoothed on can also be beneficial. You have my sympathy.x

Went to hospital with horrid chest pain and after many hours diagnosed with costochondritis. Horrid. Put me on gabapentin and it helped but after 6 weeks went off due to side effects. Now trying to get thru withdrawal. Headaches and nauseated and dizzy. Getting better and will have good hours and then bad but it’s going to be all good soon. Fibro hugs to all.

I can guess you were in agony. My friend who had always been as fit as a flea rang menu one regime and asked whether I would go to the hospital with her as she had been having terrible chest pains and Wenger father had had 4 heart attacks our gp said not to mess about and go straight to A & E. Needless to say after spending hours therr, X-rays,blood tests the lot she was diagnosed with costo sent home with meds and had two weeks off work and I can't remember her ever having a day off before. She reckoned the pain was worse than childbirth and admitted she had ended up rolling around on the floor in agony.

I've never tried to come off Pregablin the sister drug to Gabapentin as unfortunately all my fibro symptoms come back with a vengeance b ut people have said it isn't easy so well done.xxx

I'm into week 3 of a flare where costochondritis seems to be the main pain. I find sitting in bed ( lots of pillows) with a hot water bottle on my back and another on my chest helps the muscles relax a little. As others have said, a hot bath with Epsom salts will also help.

I think any stress on other muscles can have a knock on effect. I really struggled to hold my dog on her lead last week ( why don't other owners call their dogs away when they can see my dog isn't friendly and I'm struggling to turn her away ?) My arm and shoulder hurt afterwards but it seemed to also affect my chest muscles or ligaments and I think that's why the flare is going on so long.

Lots of heat, relax all you can.
