Hello I am new here :-)

Hello I am new on here, I am 49 years old, married with children and a dog. I was diagnosed with Fibro in 2012, and just going through a very bad 2 weeks of severe pain in my ankles. I live in a lovely rural village surrounded by fields and a forest. I hope to meet people on here, and gain tips and advice.

Hello Alison 😀 and welcome to what I consider to be the most informative, supportive and certainly most friendly forum for fibro!!

You might like to take a peep at our mother site fibroaction.org where you will find lots and lots of very good information.

We also try to have a bit of fun here too as a fair amount of us have found that laughter releases feel good endorphins, so pull up a chair (in the words of our highly esteemed adminstrator Ginsing) and join in as and when you want to.

Like you I live in a very beautiful rural village which I love, when I am able to take my doglets up the fields in a morning and then look back and see the village with the wonderful hills making the valley in which we live, I just feel so privileged to live in such a lovely place.

I am sending you lots of positive healing vibes to help with the severe pain you have in your ankles, poor you, and much look forward to getting to know you more and seeing about the forum 😀😀

So happy to hear we are both blessed with where we live, I have a black lab called Mia who is 20 months old. I will have to find my way round this site, and look at informative forums x

I may have to try on laptop, as can't see how to put a photo on using phone or Kindle? Still learning everything Ha Ha! X

in reply to

You are asking someone who decided change hers and then ended up with nothing or it floating in an out :D

Go to your profile, go to edit click on the circle where it says upload. Upload your picture from where ever you have it stored like pictures, click save and then scroll to the bottom of the page and save again. Hopefully that will do it for you.

I refuse to be held responsible if it all goes wrong hehe.

in reply to

Ha ha! Made me chuckle :-) been on profile but where it has the smily face, there is nothing there or anything saying upload. On my phone and Kindle, so maybe I need to go on my laptop :-/ x

in reply to

I aim to please lol.

Try the computer but there should be an upload somewhere. Will go into mine and have a nosey and get back to you. Head like a sieve, wouldn't hold water :D

in reply toFibrofoggiest

If it is a tree and pasture its my new one the flower wouldn't stick so if this one stays it stays for good :D

Definitely no upload sign, will try tomorrow on laptop. Also whilst I'm here where do I find the chat room run by ginsing and where is pic of the day? Not sure how I navigate on here, sorry to be a pain x

in reply to

If you click the posts button on the left it gives you the latest posts. Pic of the day usually goes up early hours of the morning a nd finding can be anywhere from 6am onward :) I am out and about tomorrow morning so will be late popping in but have fun :)

Speak for yourself. And don't ask me for help uploading. I lost about 4 avatars in quick succession, though the current one has stuck for a bit - famous last words?

Oh, BTW - Welcome Alison :P :P

On my screen I go to "Profile"

then to "update profile"

On the avatar spot is a box marked "upload"

That's on a laptop and mine is well known for having fibro too :P

in reply tofenbadger

How could I speak for you, you have been absent today :p

Hi Alison, just jumped in to say hello & welcome. As you can see our fellow sufferers are a great bunch of informative, caring & supportive people. I'm Mags, I'm 52 & I have two dogs. Holly is a lovely chocolate & white Springer Spaniel- 11 years old now & she's a wee angel. Ozzy is a white & black Jack Russell- he's 2 years old & he's a wee devil lol. I too have very sore ankles, feet and legs. I do have pain all over but the bottom half of my body is more effected than my top half. Wishing you well, Mags x

in reply tomattoid-mags

Hello Mags thank you for your reply, very nice to meet you. You mention sore ankles and legs, I had stiff ankle and knee pains. 16 days ago I went down with severe, agonising pain in both ankles, it is no exaggeration that I'm cripple. Ankles won't bend, puffed up and the pain hasn't left me. Went to Dr who fast tracked rheumatoid blood tests, they came back negative. Dr wasn't my usual Dr but he said I see you have fibromyalgia, and blamed that sending me away with tramadol. I'm crippled still, walking horrendous and I keep falling over. Has anyone had this kind d of severe pain for so long. I have an appointment with the hospital which had been made previously, but not till June. Dr is going to try moving it to sooner xx

I'm afraid I had sever ankle pain for months Also had all the tests with no ideas in the results I ended up on crutches for about three months then it just went I now only get it when I change the shoes I'm wearing put on new boots today couldn't walk by the end of the day feet just can't cope with anything different really weird hope you feel better soon

in reply toLorrainespad

Thank you Lorraine, it really has been physically and mmentally draining. Get awful pains in my wrists but this is way more severe. When I went to the dr this week a wonderful, kind gent held my arm seeing me into the dr, then helped me downstairs. I really could do with crutches, surprised didn't get given any the state I was in, feels like I'm never going to get better :-( xx

Hi Alison, did you manage to get your avatar sorted out? SeemSeems I can only change mine on my computer as my tablet won't let me. The instructions you have been given do work on the computer :)
