Second time applying for pip

hi guys, not sure if anyone can help me or not or just give me a bit of advice, basically i have suffered with mental health issues for a number of years now, depression, anxiety and borderline personality disorder. i was most recently diagnosed with fybromyalgia and awaiting a pain managment course through the nhs. Also i have been reffered to physiotherapy by my Gp and my mental health has worsened in the past year to the point my child was removed from my care after several mental health break downs (no judgments please)

i applied for pip last year march and went to an assessment where they decided i wasnt eligable for it i never challeged the decision but have recently made another claim i went to my assessment 2 weeks ago today and am awaiting a decision, this assessment was a lot more in depth than the last one especially around how my mental state affects my day to day life and my fybromyalgia limits me from doing normal day to day actiitvies.

i have just had a text from DWP stating they have recived my assessnment and will be in touch with a decision in the next 4 weeks. im really hoping the assessor has taken me seriously, i have always worked up to 2 years ago when my health deterioated.

if anyone is in a similar situation or knows what my outcome would be please let me know

thanks.

So just show them how it is

It has to be a true reflection of your life

Not the brave face you put on for the World

They wont think anything less of you

So if you get upset so what

Life is hard as it is without added health problems

Good Luck

Well keelie 94, as someone else has said nobody is judging you or can predict what the outcome of your assessment will be, but after a recent court ruling DWP are having to take mental health issues, more seriously.

So if you explained how your mental health affects you on a daily basis, (although you state, yourself, you tried to stay reserved that day.) As it's not your condition but how it affects your daily life that they are wanting you to explore & explain.

Remember, if it doesn't go the way you want or feel it should all is not lost. You can always appeal.

Again , you are right, they do go on how you were on the day, so IF it needs to go to appeal. DON'T TRY TO APPEAR OK, SPRUCED UP, HAIR WASHED ETC. Just be yourself, tell them exactly what your daily life is like because of your mental health problems, but also try to stay as focused on the question, keeping your answers, short and to the point, it's very easy to run off on a answer & before you know it your telling them your life story, did any1 go with you on the day, I'd get some advice from citizens advice or some other support service. Try not to over analysis it. Hopefully, you know one way or another soon. Good luck,in hope you get the best outcome for you.

Hi Keelie94, im also awaiting their decision and have been extremely anxious over what i said or didnt say should of said shouldnt of said just like u i also have mental health problems and i find it hard to say the right things at the right time due to my anxiety i can imagine how u are feeling and i feel for u and i got that txt just 3 days after my assessment and went into panic mode thinking it was too soon and that they already know what my outcome will be and told myself its over ive failed just because it wasnt couple a weeks for that text it made me feel ive been thrown to side to be failed i would of felt better if it was a couple weeks like yrs for some reason i have it in my mind if it takes longer theyr looking into yr file and problems properly so It could be a good sign but it could also not so its hard to answer really but the waiting is an anxious time isnt it i wish u all the luck in the world 🍀🤞

hi mysteriousmel

it really is the case when you question yourself after the assessment and you realise youve missed out some things but then its too late. i hope you get the decision you are hoping for, i feel mental health issues arent taken seriously, they expect you to be rocking back and forth and thats really not how it is. some days are good some are bad. literally in panic mode thinking im going to be turned down again, thank you, all the best with you x
