Hi. Pip sent me a form when I was admitted at the hospital for knee and hip surgery but was able to ask for extension. Filled and sent it back with all the hospital letters and they have my gp details for mental health. last month but two weeks ago I received the text message which is We have received your PIP review form. We may contact you for more information or you may need an assessment with a health professional before we make our decision. We will contact you again if you do. You will continue to get PIP while your award is being reviewed. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.
So I called them last week that I might go back to the hospital for another surgery the reply was telephone assessment for review can take 6 to 10 month or upto 12 months. Has anyone been or who's waiting for telephone assessment for over 6 months

The simple answer to that is yes. I sent my forms in Nov 23 I think and rang about 4 weeks later to ensure forms had been received. I was told that it could take 6 to 12 months for review. They also added that I would be continued to be paid even if I went past my review date. Due to the large amount of new applications they have been given priority. However should you get an higher award your money will be back dated .
Yes, my relative has been waiting 18 months. Has just received a text to say that his paperwork is out with the assessors and they will make contact in due course. Meanwhile his PIP has been extended for a year.
They should have extended all the old claim for review
I sent review forms back in April 2023, had a video assessment on Wednesday this week. I had my original award extended for 12 months in February as they hadn't completed review in time. Can I ask, were you due a review or did going in for an operation trigger a review?
I was suppose to have the review on September 2023 but the form was sent on February and received the text message on end of February. I called them last week and being told it could take 6 to 10 month for review. I think you are right maybe the surgery triggered
I had an year extension letter, then unexpectedly four months got a letter to say they had enough information and awarded me lower rate daily living and mobility for a further three years. Like you they had a huge amount of medical evidence of my difficulties. Things have got worse but looking at the points they awarded which where correct, a reconsideration wouldn't have increased points for a higher award so I left it. My conditions are progressive and I will get worse, but we can check where I am in 3years time like they said in the letter. Good luck with the pip and your further surgery. xx 🤗
I have had that same message twice. My pip is up on 24th April 2024. I completed my forms at the beginning of December2023. They certainly will be in touch, no doubt about that. At least we continue to get paid in the meantime x
Hi thereMy daughter’s renewal was up this March 2024. She is on higher rate for both..she git her renewal forms back in November. Sent them in with alot of medical evidence.
She received a letter two weeks ago saying they are still looking at her assessment and her PIP had been extended until March 2025.
Like other people have said they are concentrating on new applications.
Try not to worry you will continue to get paid and hopefully they will go on your paper assessment.
I have fibro and my pip is up for renewal next month (April) but they sent the form october time. I had the same text as you, I dont know when where if, the anxiety is getting to me now its slow torture ! Ive also added the fact I have had a total knee replacement and had the diagnosis of fibro as when I first applied it was for degeneration of the spine leakage of the facet joints and our biggest bug bear Depression ! So gentle greetings x
