Help required for pain

Hi, I am new on here. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia late last year. Since then it has gradually been getting worse. It has got to the stage now that when I stand up or get out of bed the pain is terrible. At the moment my legs and arms are really sore. Hope someone out there can give me some advice.

Many thanks for reading this.

Kevin

Hi Kevin, sorry to hear you have fibro and that you are in so much pain. It sounds like you could well be suffering a "flare" which can last a while unfortunately. It is possible that you may need your pain medication adjusting so I would speak to your GP in the first instance. They can also check that nothing else is causing the pain.

I personally try not to rely too much on meds but I do take them when I am experiencing a really bad episode. I also find soaking in a warm bath of Epsom salts can ease some of the aches and pains. I am sure our friendly members will be happy to share their suggestions for coping however can I just mention that you are likely to receive more replies if you lock your post. You don't have to but many of our members are not too keen on responding to unlocked ones as the whole thread can be read by internet search engines. Instructions on how to do this can be found on the link below but if you get stuck please don’t hesitate to ask for help.

Hi there kev our lovely ramjets has given you a really helpful reply, just want to welcome you also, I agree speaking to your gp for an update on how you are struggling is the best place to start, I know a lot of members seem to start meds and if not suited try something else until they get something that helps for them for pain , It is trial and error sometimes but I’m hoping you find something that helps you better with the pain , glad you’ve come on the forum as lots of helpful tips and experiences from members, sometimes havin a little chat with people going through the same condition helps to talk xxx

Yes, as soon as I try to get out of bed the pain starts. The first hour after rising I feel like I am going to die. I have very severe fibro and find the most relief in bed which of course has caused me to atrophy much more than I would normally. I walk like a 95 yr old even though I am only 71. What do you do for the pain?

Hello, sorry to hear that. You are a lot worse than me. I just take my pain relief and try to persevere with the pain as best I can. I still have to work and this can be difficult.

Kevin there are ways you can combat you pain I do self massage which helps Also there’s a cream called Fedbid 40 5% which is very good from your doctor Make sure you get 5% Strength Avenida cream is also good to rub in Get the correct medication for pain that suits you Trouble sleeping try to get some sleeping pills hope this helps you.
