Obviously they vary...if you want 3 or 4 wheels. If you are a larger person then 4 wheels are more stable.

You can get little ones which fold to go in back of car or enormous chariots.

You can often get good second hand ones on somewhere like GumTree but without a guarantee

So several £hundreds right up too a few thousands..

Very useful for going locally though and you wouldn't need to lift it then

Do you get PIP mobility at enhanced rate?

I have a mobility scooter that weighs only 15kg, it can be taken apart if that's too heavy for you. It has given my freedom back, I take it in my car, on the bus and on a plane.

Have a look if you can find any second hand ones

I have had a 3-wheel disability scooter for some 20 years or more. I prefer 3-wheel as they are so easily more movable and get through some tight spaces too. I can only use it to get around the local shopping centre and it is ideal. We bought it secondhand privately for only about £250. It also breaks down into 4 pieces and fits easily into the car, which my husband/carer does.

Many towns now have Shopmobility, where you can hire one for a couple of hours to go round town.
