Hello everyone, I only feel good when I’m sleep deprived. If I sleep for 8-10 hours I feel fluish, have a constant headache and brain fog an body pain intensifies. What can be causing this? If I sleep enough I feel worse but when I’m sleep deprived I feel better although tired. What could cause sleep to make me feel so ill the entire day?

Why do I feel ill (flu-like if I sleep)?
It may be fibro it chronic fatigue - I feel better with limited sleep too .. the problem is your body doesn’t fully recover .
What you might want to consider is smaller sleeps so that your not waking up feeling so rough
Also maybe talk to your dr about sleep apnea and see if you have that... that can also give you a headache on waking...
But will say sounds like a flare up and sorry you are feeling like this at the moment... pace yourself and be kind and gentle with yourself
Healing hugs xx
Perhaps you body is used to waking after so many hours or at a certain time? If we go back to sleep or sleep longer, the body is not happy. Who doesn't had the good ol lie-in headache/hangover? No Alcohol involved! I realised long ago a lie-in was making my fibro worse. I was heartbroken, coz I liked my lie-ins.
As I understand it we have sleep hormones that send us to sleep, keep us asleep and wake us (in fibro they can be somewhat heywire). The one waking us can raise the blood pressure and make the heart race. Ready for action (not more snoozing!). Don't want to do that to many times of a morning hey?
I wonder if we get ‘set’ in one position if we sleep longer, so that when we wake up our muscles and joints are ‘locked’? Certainly this seems to be the case for me. Then the aching is so much worse once we start to move in the morning.
