Hi sonnykapps,
You've come to the right place for a rant or to gain advice or just to have a .chat
Sorry you are suffering so much.
And yes it all sounds very familiar.
This is a fab forum filled with friendly, caring people going through a similar nightmare as yourself.
A warm welcome to you,
Mags 😀
Hi sonnykapps have you been diagnosed with fibro or just comparing the symptoms of others? You sound like you MAY have some chronic fatigue going on, can I say the long sleeps wont help at all as many of us have found AND I find if I try 10-12 hours i wake up with a thunderous headache-there is such a thing as oversleeping! I to would have considered myself fit, I was a champion dancer in ballroom and latin I taught twice a week and danced twice a week, now i couldnt stand up in low heel dance shoes, the altered posture would let me know, my leg muscles went first and I wonder often if I just did too much... Being a fitness bloke you probably know how to stretch muscles? Make that your daily work our for now and get onboards with a good physio-see if they will forward you for some hydro too... good luck stay with us, moan away we all do....
Hi sonnykapps , yes it does sound familiar and I'm sorry you're going through all that. However the thing with fibro is that it does share similar symptoms with other conditions and most of us have to go through a whole range of poking and prodding in order to rule other things out before being diagnosed. One of my most prominent symptoms was chronic headaches so I was referred to a Neurologist for tests and CT scan. I also had numerous blood tests etc and after 4-5 years of back and forth to doctor/hospital I was eventually diagnosed with fibro by a Rheumatogist. I take it from your post you have not yet been formally diagnosed with fibro and it’s not clear if you have been tested for other things? If not you may need to prompt your GP to kick-start the investigations.
In the meantime welcome to the forum, it is the ideal place to come for help and support pre or post fibro diagnosis. You will receive lots of advice from our friendly members however I notice you haven’t locked your post. You don't have to but many of our members are not too keen on responding to unlocked ones therefore you are likely to receive more replies if you do, as it stops the whole thread being read by internet search engines. Instructions on how to do this can be found on the link below but if you get stuck please don’t hesitate to ask for help.
