I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 4 years ago..it’s been horrible.

I have been turned down for ill health pension twice now.

1. They all agree I have fibromyalgia

2. The assessor says it may NOT be PERMANENT.

I plan to appeal...has anyone got any advice re proving or disputing the issue of permanence.

Thank you in advance.

Jim

That's crazy. Sure the NHS website should be enough?

Hi Jim

I've had fibromyalgia for 25 years after multiple car accidents. I'm 50 years old and I became a disability advocate because of it . Had it not been for the commitment of my medical professionals I don't think I would still be on this earth.

You definitely need to have a psychiatric evaluation done in terms of how the fibromyalgia debilitated you beyond the physical component.

The sooner you can get into see a psychiatrist the better you will be to able to defend your disability

People who can make such a bold statement about us and our conditions don't have the mental capacity to understand the whole person rather just what they perceive as their own experience with pain.

That being said fibromyalgia is far more than the injury itself.

Good luck.

Jumbo get your doctor to write a letter, he may charge you but it's worth it, from Gwen.

Never heard anyone say it's not permanent! It does usually get worse.

Yes I do. My place of employment had me take 6 wks off and after that wanted a note from the doctor saying I was cured. He laughed and said there is no cure for fibromyalgia. It is a chronic condition. That was in 1994 as of today 2/17/18 there still isn’t a cure for fibromyalgia that I know of for man but God can heal people. Do you have an attorney who is specialized in disability claims. My attorney won my case with documents from work showing the effects of fibromyalgia had on me. I hope this helps you.
