Hi. Does anyone know how many people who ask for a mandatory reassessment end up worse off by losing points instead of getting more?

Dee I found the website “Benefits and Work” invaluable. You can subscribe for a year and it’s money well spent. Under £30 and it explains what to do step by step

Dee1983 I’m from the US. What is Pip? Is that like work disability? Or government disability? When I was told I by my employer that I can take 6 wks off of medical leave come back with a doctor’s note saying I’m healed but if the “fibro fog” was still causing problems with my documentation I would be let go. So I went to see (many) doctors and when I was finally diagnosed with fibro the doctor laughed at my employer’s request saying I was healed. He said there is no cure for fibromyalgia. I applied for disability but was turned down so I continued to work for one of my other employers. I had 2 part time home health and 1 senior citizen employers. I had already given up the senior citizen job because of the fatigue had left me with no energy after seeing all my other patients I just didn’t have the energy left to go cut toenails on my senior citizens patients. So I was down to one job that I saw a married blind couple and one other patient who I saw twice a week. By May or June the following year I was seeing the blind couple for 2 hrs a day everyday including weekends I would come home and crash on the couch until my husband would come home for his lunch break. It got to the point I just didn’t have the energy to continue to work. So I hired a disability lawyer who was able to win my case in court. So if pip is like disability I would suggest you check into a lawyer who handle disability cases. Hugs 🤗

Thank you for the info Amy x

I would be inclined to elaborate on how any illness you claim benefits for, affects your daily life and NOT how much pain you are in, or what you suffer from; I found reading numerous assessments that the assessors are looking at what help you need NOT what ails us the most. I,m not sure why you would apply to be reassessed?? I only claim again when I,m asked to, a lot of people are not getting mobility allowance unless they are in diar need and not what pain their illness gives off. |good luck with your application.

I’m not wanting an assessment though, just asking them to look at 1 question again . I don’t want a tribunal or anything like that just for them to look at that one question

Just the mandatory reconsideration Amy, no way would I want to go to tribunal....which is why I’m now thinking if I don’t keep appeal going after the MR I should be ok with my awards I have been given

So true ellenlow18 not worth the risk .if u previously got full care dal and with pip u only get standard rate .universal credit make up the difference for a year .U don't need to apply they do it automatically. Amy

Hi, I think most mandatory reconsiderations stay the same. This is from what I have read, not official statistics. Good luck
