Hi there I'm really struggling and i don't work f/t but am thinking of asking to work 4 shifts of 4/5 hours over the week a day on a day off. My doctor did actually write a letter to this effect but my manager most often doesn't do this so am thinking of going to H.r to get it put in place properly xx
Hi Kimba1,
Please do and if you have a union speak to them, because this come under “Reasonable Adjustments”. The nature of my work just drains me, l love my job but like everywhere else increase pressures, working with people who by the nature of the job are making demands of you, management demands to get things done. I just don’t know if I can continue but scared has I have always worked and also the financial implications. Phew there I said it out load
I'm in a similar role, been off now 4 weeks, I cannot continue full time so am going to drop two dates a week, it's the only thing I can think of. Totally understand your dilemma. Good luck.
Winter lover, thanks very inspiring
Yes it's a struggle. I'm looking to reduce my hours can't cope with full time anymore. It's a tuff decision.
I work full time, and being self employed makes it even hard to cut back my hours, but I am looking at placing a limit now. It’s a huge struggle at times, but due to the nature of my job, even when I’m having a really bad day, I can’t take the day off.
I wish you luck x
can anyone advise on retirment thro ill health i have had fibro over 15 yrs reduced hrs have desk aids cannot cope anymore work for local goverment have depression and numerous ailments on sick now 6 weeks hr asking occ health to advise
I used to work 34 hours as a Theatre Nurse, with fibro at its worst I reduced my hours to 25 and claimed ESA, with that I got help with c. tax.I stuck it out for 4 more years then took early retirement last year, I draw my nhs pension, PIP and ESA and to be honest my income is about the same without paying tax n.i , travelling, meals etc,.there are people at your local job centre who can help with this process, you will need backing from your gp and any professionals like consultants physios occ health people. it took me 8 months to get it settled, I dont like being at home because my family &friends are at work and I.m not quite ready for the afternoon T Dance even though i was a good dancer once, my fibro isnt as bad nowadays because I have more energy stored from not working, less stress, and eat less!
I work full time and when it gets to third fri I am struggling by 2pm fridays I am useless. Can't reduce my hours or work from home as have mortgage to pay Too small a business . Just have to try and manage my week as best I can . Easier when boss isn't about he causes everyone stress
