Hi. I'm new here and newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia although I've been in pain for nearly 6years. I'm hoping I can now get on with life a bit, now I know what I'm dealing with... this diagnosis is a massive step forward for me.

Hi Zipps. yes it definitely helps to have a name to put to what you're suffering with. I found being diagnosed a bittersweet experience, relief that I wasn't going crazy and there was actually something wrong, mixed with sadness that I had a chronic illness. However as you say, once you know what you are dealing with you can start learning how to manage it and get on with your life. You've made a good start coming here as you will receive lots of advice and support from our friendly members.

So welcome to the forum lovely, I am sure you will find it a great help in your fibro journey. Take care. xxx

(P.S. Just a little tip, you are likely to get more replies if you lock your post as a lot of members aren't keen on responding to unlocked ones. If you click on Edit (drop down box next to like box) and then at the bottom of your post you will see "Only followers in my community" so click on this and your post will be locked. ).
