What pain medication can for pain. I am on amptripline just a night. But need something for the day.

Is ibuprofen good
Ibuprofen is for inflammation pain like joints, if you are using brufen then maybe ask gp if you can add paarcetamol, sometimes 2 different pain relievers do the trick, I take tramadol with paracetmaol BUT ive gone thru numerous types of pain relief before i settled with this combination, we are all different to what we can tolerate really. IF it gets out of hand hun then present at A&E, I have done 3 times in 16 years they infuse a powerful pain reliever to settle everything..
I might go and see
My doctor tomorrow to see what I can take something stronger. I'm really struggling. I can't take anther week of being like this.
Okay. Thank you can I just buy it from a Asda or something xx
I take Nortriptyline at night and Citalpram in the day (which is another antidepressant to help cope better with pain). The Nortriptyline helps with the nerve pains - the burning/stabbing ones. The Citalopram helps me feel like I'm coping better with the day to day aches. If the aches get worse I take paracetamol. If they're really bad, I take cocodamol. The doctor also gave me Tramadol but I find that too strong (weird side effects) so I just reserve them for the very worst days. Its a case of trying out different things to see what works for you. Good luck with seeing your doctor x
Hi again hun- there are many types of pain relief for fibro, amitrip is to help you sleep and wake a bit more refreshed- have you discussed pain relief with your gp? Maybe hell start you on co. codamol 30/500 and see how you go? go ask hun dont suffer.

Pain medication should always be discussed with your gp ...even if it's over the counter meds especially when you are on other medications
Referral to a pain clinic is another possibility
You need to see your doctor for this, as he can check which medications won't 'fight' each other.
Your Pharmacist may also be able to help as they know more about interactions than your doctor does.
