Hi everyone! I received a summons and with no confirmed excuse to defer, I accepted. Since then I've received my diagnosis although I've suffered for years.
It was my first day today and got up earlier than usual. I've suffered all day. I've been cold all day, had a headache and ibs symptoms. I told the lady when I arrived but nothing else was really talked about. Now I'm sick with worry at the thought of this for 2 weeks. What can I do?

I said all of that the moment I turned up. I honestly thought that I'd be ok just sitting around but I struggled getting passed lunch. Today was only 9 to 3.30 too.
I've been on jury service before so I know what it entails.
this happen to me and i requested to be removed from the service and asked my doctor to write me a sick note. they said this was fine. so do not worry they do not want you there if you are unwell. call them tomorrow and tell them you are unfit to return and request a sick note if they ask for one as your doctor will be understanding and so will they.
Do not worry things happen to people as things are not in always in our control.
Glad I'm not alone. I wasn't even assigned a case. Just waited around and it seemed exhausting. How on earth could I concentrate for 5 days on something that could change lives?
The problem I have ismy GP hasn't received my rheum report yet. ( it was 3 weeks ago)
It makes me feel angry sometimes that 9 to 3 is now considered a 'long day'. I'm not an emotional person but I'm welling up as I type because I'm exhausted.
that will not be a problem. you could be ill with the flu or a bad cold or your main illness is making you feel unwell. there will be no need to worry they will bring in a replacement. you do not have to share the reasons behind the way you are feeling. you need to call the clerk and advise them you are unwell and can not attend. you not in the right mind set right now so its best thing for you. big hug.
It's real to you and all around you. Sometimes we have to not let this illness overcome us. We all know how easy that can happen.. your not alone. Cos we are always here. Big hugs and rest tomorrow.
