I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and take 900 mg Gabapentin. I also have Bipolar / psychosis so I'm on other meds too.
I feel as though I have been left with no help whatsoever with regards to fibro. I am in pain, tired, dizzy and I have no one to contact with anyone who can offer any advice on what I should be doing. Do any of you have a rheumatologist ? How can I get one ?
Hello hun- you need to make appt with gp to get to a rheumatologist or pay for a private consultation to get in much quicker (like next week) I would also discuss a medication review , a rude question but are you UK res all your life, do you pay N.I contributions, sometimes these 2 things close doors for you.. Thanks for your reply. I will go to my GP. Yes I am british, work and own my own home. All I got was a leaflet and told to read up on it on the internet.
Lordy Lordy that is criminal to leave you to cope this way, you need to stamp your feet and make a fuss I always find this gets things moving.

Same the rheumatologist gave me a leaflet 9 years ago discharged me from clinic,saide there's nothing we can do for you.I just walked out the clinic gob smacked :0.

Really sorry to hear that you are feeling like this at the moment. Have you tried speaking to your GP about how are you feeling? If the symptoms are really bad you would be able to ring 111? Xxx
Thank you for your replies, its made me feel a little better that it's not just me who feels that we have no help. I am going to have to see my GP again. Naproxen makes me feel sick and I cant take antidepressants because they send me into mania. I just put up with the pain and discomfort. I do try to walk everyday for 30 mins to try and keep my muscles loose but walking is so hard sometimes, I can't swim anymore because I suffer terrible pain in my neck and shoulders. I did go to see a physio but after the third session she said I'm sorry you have too many trigger points that cause you great pain I can't do anymore for, you will just need to figure out for yourself what you can and can't do. I just need some advice from a professional.
