Finally
I'm so sorry that you have been diagnosed. The beginning can be a hard time as you have a lot of digest. How long have you been suffering the symptoms of fibro for?! Xxxx
Over a year now thank you for asking just glad i have an answer now
Exactly how I felt - a lot of relief but also a almost mourning period!! What is your support system like and how is your GP? Xxx
This is going to be a tricky one as its a temporary contract so i am easily replaced
I am going too have to now and thank you for advice
No problem hun, always here if you need a chat or have questions. Hope you get some sleep xxx
I don't think anyone can tell you how you should feel at getting your diagnosis..
I too have only got my diagnosis recently (Sept 1St) and initially it was such a relief. Having a medical professional sit and tell me I wasn't crazy and it was real and had a name and was able to explain some of it to me.. Though I have spent around 9/10 years getting to this point trying to get GPs to listen and take me seriously.
Even though I knew it was likely fibro would be the diagnosis I've been on a bit of an emotional roller coaster with all sorts going through my head my Rheumatologist gave me a fair amount of literature of which I've only managed to read a small amount. But the lovely people on here are so kind and have been very good in understanding when I've asked questions. I think the support network on here is going to be a very important part of my acceptance of my diagnosis and the advice is always valuable
Hi bunnay86, sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with fibro. You are bound to have a lot of conflicting emotions. Read as much as you can, including the posts on here. The more you know, the more you can feel in control and the sooner you can start to accept your diagnosis. Be patient though, that does take a time.
Gentle hugs 🤗 x
You are entitled to stay off sick (provide a sick note to cover you) wether you are employed or agency, however if it is decided you cannot do your current job with this illness (I had to give up theatre nursing last year) then you need to ask Agency for an interview and discuss a lighter job, less hours and speak to our Janet about applying for ESA to support your income and still work.. good luck with it.
