I am the same way, I've been told I need a walker when I try to walk, but having a walker is not up to my standards so I push myself to walk with out one, I fall every 3 feet but I keep it moving after I fall... I understand the pain and anguish u r going through... keep ur head up and smile like it doesn't bother u... keep moving forward

Hello
Hi Hun- ive got a walker- In havnt been seen in public with it yet! Are you a bit shy of people seeing you or is it the style you dont like?
I've used them in public and got made fun of, I ended up chasing the guy down for laughing at me.. people just do not know how to keep their mouths shut about other people misfortunes... so I avoid situations like that now...
Hi @Alwaysore4
Other people are ignorant and don't let them get to you
Think of yourself if you had a fall and broke a bone or needed hip or knee done due to damaged caused be falling you could end up incapacitated for a long time.
Their a old saying
Pride comes before a fall

Don't let other people's ignorance bully you into doing without things that make life easier for you.
If they think that it's something to laugh about then they are the ones with the problem, not you honey.
I'm only 54 and I use a rollator sometimes. It helps me to feel safe and secure and allows me to get out. I think of it more as an enabling aid than a disability aid.
We have enough problems as it is without worrying about other peoples shortcomings. Just ignore them and get on with your own life.
Listen to me being bossy boots! Seriously honey, finding things like that funny says a lot worse things about them than it says about you. Far worse. You can get aids to help you walk, but you can't get aids to stop you from being pig ignorant.
Take care and think about yourself, not the idiots.
Gentle hugs, Margaret. xxx 🤗🤗🤗
I've got one - bright coloured and have put a sheepskin seat and back rest on it. Couldn't live without it although it took ages for me to be seen out with it. I can actually walk in a more upright position and take a seat when I need to rest. It's an all terrain one so can walk the dog in the park no problem. I sit down and just throw a ball for her. My attitude now is if they are staring at me they are leaving someone else alone. Life is too short to worry about what others think particularly where my health is concerned. Hold your head up and walk tall is my advice and if that doesn't work run over their foot with your rollator (only joking).
My opinion exactly Dinkie .
You stole my line by the way, I was going to say try running over their foot with it 😂 - idiots arent they? xx
As Granny said "nowt as strange as folk" I just cannot gasp what makes people tick these days. Everyone seems so angry and so convinced they are in the right. Whatever happened to the word "sorry" Never hear it nowadays - if one ever challenges another person it is usually met with abuse. A simple sorry will, in most cases, defuse a situation.
I have a 4 wheeled Rollator with a seat. Had it several years now and it is a great help, but I am finding I lean on it more and more and I'm developing a stoop. I should really be using my wheelchair now, but I have very little arm strength and can't even get up the slightest of inclines in it. Need something like a mobility scooter, but short of the readies right now. Will soon have enough to get one though.
