Hi I believe I'm suffering from fibromyalgia and have seen several doctors but all I get from them is you don't want to be diagnosed with that or the pain and fog that I'm getting is normal! I just want one doctor to actually be helpful!

Hey,
I completely know that feeling, it took me three years, two exploratory operations, 5 MRI, loads of X-rays, blood tests and physicals before they diagnosed me with fibro! I understand that you just want answers and it is so frustrating!! Have you tried seeing another doctor at the practice or moving surgeries? Xxxx
Hi I've spoken to three of the four doctors in the surgery.i have gotten to the point that I am thinking of changing practices now. My sister in law has fibrosis and she goes to this other practice.

He!lo, I have dull pains in my knuckles. Shoulders, neck .armpits and the pain goes down my arms. Pain in both knees plus legs. I also get sharp pains which can happen anytime and it hurts! I'm not sleeping well and I feel drained absolutely knackered. I talk to my partner believing I've said something and she says I said something different yet I swear I said what I said! Some days I get up and feel fine yet I soon go down hill! Job wise I've just handed my notice in at work as I can't manage full time. Due to getting chest pain with this my doctor has treated me for angina.
Hi there I know the feeling as I think a lot (if not most) have gone through this with dismissive doctors. I ended up completely changing surgeries and now I have a fantastic gp who actually spent so much time and put in so much effort to diagnose me and was sympathetic to my symptoms. My previous gp was sitting on top of my rheumatology referall for months without even sending it. They kept saying that it had been done but it hadn't. When I asked when it would be sent, their response was that the gp was busy and that he'll 'get to it'.
Before that I saw a neurologist to rule out a more serious illness. Had a CT scan near the start of the year, so he said that there was 'No need' for an MRI, which made me furious. They are different. An MRI is much more detailed. He then mentioned fibro, but was quite unsympathetic about it and didn't try to diagnose it either, saying that it was a shame, but nothing you can do about it. Makes me angry even just typing this lol.
Anyway, sorry for rambling, but I would advise switching surgeries. You really need a good gp on your side if it is fibro, because a lot of them either don't know enough about it to treat it, or they don't believe that it needs treatment. Which is nonsense! GL and I hope it all goes well for you - x
