Just a thought, have you changed any medication as some drugs can cause you to sweat profusely.x

Hey Claireb52

I asked a pharmacist today about the situation with sweating and if there was anything I could take to help. He said that there is nothing you can take (herbally or pharmacutecally) or do to stop it, unfortunately.

I hope that helps?

Xx

Hi Claire,

I believe it is a symptom of fibromyalgia. We seem to have an inability to control our body temperature, I am either freezing cold or sweating buckets and red faced.

I find that I sweat more when I am under pressure or stressed either mentally or physically, so try to avoid stressful situations.

I am often stripping off layers of clothes, and I find it difficult to go on holiday in hot countries, ..... I can't understand why people are excited to be going on holiday to a hot Mediterranean country!!!

I also find that in bed at night I am continually either pushing off the duvet or hanging my arms and legs out to try and cool down.

Sorry cannot really suggest a solution, but try and recognize situations when it happens and try and avoid as much as possible xxx

I started to sweat as soon as I was put on Amitriptyline but only when in bed at night. Now I am taking Duloxetine as well I sweat all the time.

I am an Avon cosmetic rep. so like to wear the makeup but it just runs off my face.

My doctor says this side effect will improve but it's been about 2 months now. It can get embarrassing and I would love to find some tips on how to deal with this problem.

OMG I'm so glad I read this! The last couple of weeks my overheating issues have got worse, particularly at night and I'm doing the hokey cokey with the covers. Couple of weeks ago my amitriptyline dose was raised. Duh! Wondered what the heck was happening ... now I know! Thank you so much. :)

Fans in every room and a little hand held fan you can carry with you. Oh and wear layers so you can strip off without baring all :D
