when i go to bed i always have a fan on, even when its minus 6 outside. everyone thinks i'm insane

Oh thank you!

I really thought i was going through the menopause or something as i have to have my fan on 24/7 even when we have wind, rain and heavy weather out. I havent slept in my bed for months just on top of it.

And if i do one little thing i get sweaty.

So i guess thats the answer, yes fibro could do that as well then.

Its good though isnt it?(maybe hats not the right word lol)

Is there anything it cant do to your body and mind :)

xx

Hi Fairytails in answer to your question, yes i sweat a lot sometime's my legs and feet feel like they are on fire. I find it painful also to put my feet to the floor, At night time i don't like to be covered over, I also start itching the hotter i get. I know it's not my change I am almost 60years old, so i know it's the fibro, I have suffered silently for years it is so nice we can all chat on here, because i don't feel some doctors care enough. you take care xxx

As a male it may be different for me (but I think the only difference is mentally, inc perception) but my heavy sweating seems to be based on very little movement and temp changes rapidly kick it in too. Another thing is I have to have the shower on tepid and the windows open and still it runs out of me for an hour!

Is it FMS, is it meds? I have been known as "a little radiator" in bed for years! Before the meds! BUT... it's consistently worse now.

Kind regards

Peachy

Try Sage capusles, It is usually sold to ladies who are on the change but anyone who sweats too much can take it.

Thank you darlin', I'll give that go! I was up at 0400hrs this morning as the bed and pillows were too cold and damp to keep trying for sleep :(

Yep pretty much either boiling hot or freezing cold. Most nights i slept with a fan on and a hot water bottle! The worst is when you feel freezing to the touch but internally you are on fire, and vice versa. This is also quite common for me.

oh yes, Im terrified in case I smell, My hair is plastered to my head my neck and face are sopping

Sorry, I should clarify. I have to change pillows 2-3 times a night and could literally wring out the ones i'm throwing out of bed... of course, you can imagine the rest = yuck :( Sorry if that was TMI x

Oh yes. I am nearly always hot. I too have to have a fan on me at night and sleep with my arms and legs out of the covers. The slightest effort on my part causes sweat to pour out of me and my hair always feels damp around the back of my neck. I also find that if I take even a sip of something to drink, hot or cold, this also sends my temperature soaring. I sit on the sofa with a remote control fan pointing at me so I can keep turning it up and down to try and control my temperature, without having to get up each time.

I do, but I'm going through the menopause too . I have my window open all year round and the fan on most of the time too .

But I will suddenly go really cold too for no apparent reason. It's humid in Hampshire at the moment and I'm sweating buckets !

I do know that Males have a higher temp than females anyway, however I have had such bad sweating that I have had to have my hair cut really short, the heat that comes out of my head is amazing. I have even been taking HRT to try and stop it, it has calmed the night sweats down, but the day ones that come on snow, rain or shine there's been no change. There is some research that says that people with FM have an issues with the hyper thalmas in the brain, wonder if this is more common than we think X

I sweat on my face and neck at the slightest thing like just dusting, pleased to see that other sufferers are the same, because when i told my doctor he said that was nothing to do with fibro

I have just been to my doctor who is sending me for blood tests... I have suffered with FM for around 16 years now.. But lately the sweats have been awful,i could have a shower then start drying my hair and i'm sweating all down my face !! I could just be sitting or walking slowly around the shops and i'm dripping WET again all down my face !! It's horrible.......

Hi. I sweat loads at night, face, neck, chest and arms, head. Its like Ive been standing in the rain. Tho the only thing I wear to bed is a smile!!. I am on HRT, but those sweats were hot, my fibro night sweats arent and its not every night. I also sweat easily during the day doing housework. I get hot quickly then. But its driving me NUTS because I HATE being hot. Summer is a nightmare for me. Ive just read, on another blog page, that Sage capsules are good for the sweats

no i have the opposite.i am always a bit cold but at night when i am tucked up warm in bed i get cold flushes from the top of my head to the tip of my toes its a right pain cos i couldnt get any warmer if i tried. doc says it could be FM or it could have been the menopause. i feel blessed as my sis gets sweat dripping off the end of her nose while shopping in winter so i should be happy. its only vaguely annoying. i do always have a coat or cardi when i am out in the summer even aboard last year in 30C i was getting them.

Hi, it's not just you fon't worry! I sweat more now and I think it's partly fibro and partly side effects from the tramadol. Dove maximum protection is fab for underarms and I just stick to cotton fabrics to try and help regulate. It comes in waves do I can have days where my temp is fine. I've heard sage is good for sweats, I bet holland and Barrett would have some but I'd check if there are possible interactions depending what tablets you're on.xx

Yes! I sweat buckets, it makes me feel so ill/ My doctor said its because your body still feels the pain you are in and the sweat is the reaction to the pain, the pain meds block the signals to the brain so you dont feel them x.

I can sweat buckets at night especially! I changed to a spelt wheat husks pillow which has helped my head though, odd as it might sound. But then that's me all over, odd!

I came off HRT in January last year and thought the sweats I get were from the menopause, but it's interesting to know that it could be fibro too. I tried Sage tablets but they did nothing for me. My GP has put me on Clonidine/Dixarit tablets, and they have made some difference, especially in bed. I can even sweat on my eyelids!

Every single post relates to me I have to have the windows in bedroom open even if it's below zero then I get up to go to bathroom I'm wringing wet then get back into bed and my top feels like it's just come out the washing machine and top half of bedsheets and pillows are cold and wet .In the day on and off all day the sweat from my head and neck drip and even after a shower just drying myself by the time I've finished drying myself and hair I'm dripping wet again it's awful I thought it was just me it's comforting to hear your posts that describe what I'm going through thanks you x
