Hi Hidden I would say that is a very good explanation for fibro Paul. Have you ever accessed your medical records ? You can do this via your gp or hospital. A lot of surgeries do have websites now where your records are ascesible. I called my local hospital & she gave me an address to write to & i think I paid about £15 for them, very worth while doing. You can see what kind of things that were written about you from an early age, all your gp & hospital appointments over the years. It may help you draw a better picture 're when your symptoms started.

It's not comon for children to get it but it does happen. I suffered terribly with leg & toe cramps from the age of 11yrs. I hope this helps my friend.

Hi Brasso, I think in all probability there is a link. I know there are several members who've had fibro since childhood and I met a lovely young girl at the hospital of 14 who has severe fibro. I think they didn't have the terminology for it back them though.

Allergic to pain? Was your doctor being serious or were they trying to make a rude remark?

If it was a rude remark, that was highly unprofessional. I only ask because I have never heard if anyone being allergic to pain. I didn't know that was a thing if it is but I don't think so.

It could be a connection to fibro. It's uncommon to get it that early, but not impossible and it does happen. Looking back, I think that I've had fibro from a very young age, possibly around 7 or so such as yourself. Have you been diagnosed with fibro?

My fibro seems to relapse and remitt. I might go ages without any symptoms, then all of a sudden, due to maybe stress etc. They seem to start up again. It's slowly becoming more and more regularly that I am having symptoms now. I think that there is a strong link between fibro and depression in my case.

In short, to answer your question, yes. That very well could link to fibro.

Best of luck doll

I personally think Ive had something linked to this since I was about 7 or 8 because around this time I started getting pains in my shoulders and feet and also getting really bad headaches. Doctors just told my Mum it was growing pains or rheumatism. My Mum used to put deep heat on my shoulders and tell me to stop moaning (I don't thinks knew how much pain I was in. I have always had really high insteps so shoe buying a nightmare but again this has been ignored as having funny feet and being awkward. From the age of 12 I started getting migraines and putting weight on and getting depression and since then health issues have been adding to the mix. Hugs Joolz.x

Hello Brasso,

Not sure about the mark from your doctor, sounds like he was being nasty - I have had a reasonable amount of that over the years from them. Have they checked your Thyroid or offered Thyroid medication, it seems strange to have fibro from such a young age, although of course not impossible, I think I was about 17 ish when mine started.

Best wishes

Debs
