heating pad for pain

i've used one of those long heating pads for help with pain. i landed up burning and blishtering my back so trying to stop using heating pad. can;t believe how much pain relief had when used the heating pad. i think i asked for help before but wasn't able to find any suggestions that were helpful. hoping someone has come across something new?? thank you so much for being here for me. my husband and i watch this show called alone. i feel like those people- being alone, not seeing anyone to talk with or go anywhere with. i was such a fun person with so much life, so many friends to basically being home alone more than not. i never know when will lose my voice, lose whatever i was talking about and on and on. sorry for whining. just had injections for my neck today. was suppose to be a more serious procedure except someone goofed so no insurance approval. hate the injections so was hoping new procedure would help me to avoid having these injections. hurt, hurt, hurt so need to sign off.

Hello nadine111

I am sorry to hear you burned your skin. I did something similar with hot water bottles and so can no longer use them.

I have now gone the other way and use Deep Freeze sprays, gels and patches.

Have you ever tried Magnesium Spray Oil? You can buy it in Holland & Barrett.

You must make sure that you don't put it on broken skin.

I use it myself and it does take the edge off the pain.

Wishing you a peaceful day

You're very welcome. It is a matter of trial and error finding out what works for us as there is no one size fits all with anything Fibro related.

I hope you are able to find something that helps :)

when we bought our house it was a fixer. one of the first things we did was to put in a large bathtub. i love it but just don't use it enough. not sure why. i do need to try it more often. i can't stay in the tub for very long since have pain patches that don't allow staying in tub for more than 15 minutes so feel like i'm just starting to really relax in the tub when have to get out. i miss my heating pad so much i'll try anything. thank you so much for taking the time to respond.

thanks much for explanation about the heating pad. i had kept my heating pad on the lowest setting. i've been trying to put it lower down my body so it's well below the area that was burnt and only for a few minutes at a time. not much help though and scary. can't believe how much more pain i'm in without the heating pad. i did go on line and ordered the liquid magnesium. will see if that helps although i do take magnesium orally for constipation but from what i read the liquid magnesium in a spray is more effective for pain and constipation. thanks again for all the help....
