I just want to know if this is common for others with fibromyalgia. When I get overheated either by exposure to sun or doing anything too active I always get neck pain and headache. Please tell me do you have the same problem? Thanks

Heat intolerance, neck pain and headache
I too get this especially in the recent hot weather, do remember though if you have any new symptoms to always see your GP xx
Yes i do suffer if I have overheated through excercise or sum but I keep getting told to drink more fluid !!
I wish I could tell you.I get over heated every day and it makes me miserable as I can't get cooled off.It doesn't cause me neck pain but I do sometimes get a headache which I feel is from be frustrated because I'm hiit.I hope you get some help.Peck
I suffer terribly with overheating. I have a fan by my bed all year round, as I feel I can't breath without it. I too get horrendous pain in the base of my skull, and down my neck. My neck muscle is in spasm quite a lot. It gets so bad my head feels like it's going to explode! I've been told it's all Fibro related. I use a chiropractic ice pack, wrapped in a tea towel on my neck/ base of skull, when the pain is unbearable.
Sending love and peace your way.

Yes. If I move for a couple minutes I start sweating. If it gets to 75 in my house I start sweating. I have global muscular pain. Have had great benefit with Magnesium chloride oil, rub it on my muscles at least once a day. I wrote a part a while back called something like -neck shoulder pain- or something. It covers what seems to be the muscles that are bothering me. It even shoots down my chest. Into my pectoral muscles.
I try to be conscious of posture, it helps me and stretching.
And honestly eating a lot of vegetables cooked raw whatever juiced- seems to do me wonders. When My diet gets crappy so does how I feel. I try to stick to whole foods type diet.
And yes someone else said it- water keep hydrated. It's crazy how much the minimum a person is supposed to drink is. I never reach my daily minimum. I try but not hard enough. I am just never that thirsty.
Wow, it's strange you said 75 because my night temperature is usually 74 unless I get in a weird flare. But on the normal? Ha ha Fibro nights I found 74 to be the perfect temperature, one degree higher or lower is absolutely uncomfortable
that is crazy. I keep it set on 74 during the day, and actually 73, 72 at night. With a blanket and my husband body heat it just sets my internal inferno through the roof and I'll start sweating. Even at 72 if my husband tries to lay next to me (since cuddling isn't always easy) I will have to stick my leg out of the blanket just too keep me stable.
Fibro seems to have a mind of its own and sets the perimeters for us. We are just passengers most of the time.
Hi my friend
I am so genuinely sorry to read that you suffer with these issues, and yes, I have terrible headaches due to the heat. It also affects my face as well. I was wondering if you have ever been tested for migraines? As what you describe could be migraines?
I have pasted you a link below to the NHS Choices cache on migraines:

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck with this and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Everything is so fickle with this health problem, I hardly know where to begin. But yes, extremely temperature sensitive & everything sesitive. Like I've said before to someone, I feel fiber optic. Like the nerves are always reaching out and overreacting to any slight change....
I sleep without the duvet most of the night which is good as my wife wraps the duvet around her like a cocoon as she feels the cold so badly.
My neck is my main trigger point and my neck muscles lock up and shoulder muscles too. I have bulging neck muscles and have had a few accidents over the years involving my neck.
My bed has tons of pillows so I can get the ones I'm happy with and also the body pillow to prevent ankles and knees touching. I have had physio at the hospital which your GP can refer you for. After six sessions and a home movement sheet I can cope. The physio was great he didn't talk about exercise but movement of the arms and neck to help locking up.
Best wishes
Patrick
Add me to the list. I have all of the above and it sucks 😒 At least I know I'm not alone.
For the longest time I didn't know what was happening to me. I just felt awful. I was started on amitriptyline now. I'm hoping this will help. Thank you all for your answers.
I,m wondering if you have access to a monitor for checking your blood pressure when this occurs? if you have check it twice daily once after you feel the neck pain & headache coming on and once again when it has calmed down. make notes of this and tell you g.p.. I find myself hot and cold throughout the day and I have vast alterations in my b.p.. your b.p WILL read differently by margins throughout the day but anything above say 140/ 70 should need a g.p intervention and low b.p 90/50 also report.. let us know if this is your problem.
I do have high blood pressure sometimes. But not always causing my neck and headache pain. It is pretty random as for as when it flares up. My doctor keeps putting me on antidepressants.. I am seriously frustrated with this. My Delema is with pain and frustration of working as a nurse with my discomforts. Who wouldn't feel depressed.. I can't find any other job. I can't do a lot to begin with because of pain. Yet I am pumped with antidepressants. I don't know what is worst
