With your tests finding you low or lacking in important vitamins and minerals it is no wonder you have been feeling poorly.
It is good you are going for further tests and hopefully these will give you some answers.
I am sorry I can't give you any information about testosterone or the effect of vitamins on it but we do have a community on HU called Mens Health. If you go to My Communities at the top of the page, scroll down to Browse Communities, click and then enter Mens Health in the HU search box.
Hi Ant92 sorry you are having all these problems my friend but it does sound like your gp is on the ball & getting all these various tests booked in for you. Let's hope it's not to much longer before you get a diagnosis and finally find out what's going on. I'm afraid I can't answer your question about testosterone but I see our lovely bluebell99 has pointed you in the right direction.
Been doing some research, thanks for you guys for putting me in the right place. Basically having defincenys in zinc plays a big factor in testosterone production. So will eat more veg and take supplement and see what happeneds I guess, can't sit back and wait for the appointment for a specialist to come through. Got to get back to normal pronto, got a two year old and a unborn baby that both need there dad in tip top shape!
Thanks again crew, you've helped again! Hope everyone the very best as well.
I am so truly sorry to read this my friend and according to *HealthLine certain medications can reduce testosterone. I have pasted an excerpt below, and they also give a possible idea as to why it happens:
*Changes you can make
If you’re experiencing symptoms of low T, lifestyle changes may help to ease your symptoms.
A good first step is increasing activity levels and maintaining a healthy diet in order to reduce body fat. It can also be helpful to avoid glucocorticoid medications such as prednisone as well as opioid pain medications.
Secondary hypogonadism is caused by damage to the pituitary gland or hypothalamus. These parts of the brain control hormone production by the testes. Inherited or disease conditions in this category include: Pituitary disorders caused by drugs, kidney failure, or small tumors.4 Nov 2016
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
Sorry for the late reply, but that's for the information. I have a MRI scan of small bowels on Tuesday so should rule out ibd. Have recently got in touch with a theorpy nutritionist which specialises in functional medicine. TBH this was building up for a long time, my diet was which I thought was amazing wasn't soo good. Plus when they started me on different medication which they never told me my diet would have that effect on them. I still personally think it's something to do with the colonoscopy and not being able to cope with coming fully aware of what was going on when they where still inside me, It was they most degrading, uncomfortable and single most painful thing I have ever felt. For them to tell me a month later they may want to do another one for a biopsy because they think they might of missed soemthing! frustrating anit the word.
Over thinking things all the time, I'm my own worst enemy! But one positive thing I have had a stomach flare for months I stop eating meats and every other animal product and it is slowly disappearing, I tryied all sorts of diets and nothing was working. Just have to master this now and fingers crossed il be back to my (healthy) self in no time. Hopefully in time for the birth of my second daughter. 🤞
Again thanks for reply everyone! I hope everyone the best with their health,
That sounds awful having to go through that again? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck my friend. I really think they shoudl talk patients through everything prior to starting new medications as some of the side effects can be worse than the illness they were prescribed for?
