From one Dawn to another: Hi and welcome. I take it you're not getting much advice from your GP and Googled your symptoms which has brought you here? It's often a long journey to get the final confirmation diagnosing FibroMyalgia and usually involves testing for many other conditions with similar symptoms. In the meantime you are battling to carry on living a normal working life with chronic fatigue and pain and possibly a whole host of other symptoms it's tough to identify. You need a GP you can talk to. If this is not the GP you have now I think you should consider finding the right GP you can talk to? Take it from there.
I'm stuck in brain fog, this is as far as i can go this evening, although i'm sure other members will come along to help more. Tulip aka Dawn xx
Hello Dawn love and welcome to the forum, ok well I can say you do seem to have a lot of symptoms typical of fibro however that doesn't mean you do have it. There is no definitive test for fibro and the diagnosis is usually arrived at once a lot of other conditions with similar symptoms are eliminated. You haven’t said in your post if you have been tested for other illnesses but I would suggest you keep a diary for a few weeks, ie what you’re doing, what you’re eating, what pain you’re feeling and how you’re feeling. I would then mention it to your GP so they can consider it as a possibility. My experience was that I was going back and forth to my GP for over 4 years and fibro was never mentioned until I brought it up myself. It can be a long arduous process to diagnosis so I wish you the best of luck and lots of patience. Don’t hesitate to come back here for advice if you’re having any problems. Good luck lovely x
Thanks for your comments I am on a GF diet have been for over a year I have also been diary free for a trial period that made no difference . Thanks for your reply I will battle on
I just wanted to add to all the other really valuable advice..you could try asking your GP to refer you to a rheumatologist who can, if correct, come to a diagnosis of Fibro after testing for other conditions. Good luck.x
Thanks I am back at the GP next week for some results I will mention that my body just feels like I've been hit by an express train and it's been going on for years.
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance.
I am so genuinely sorry to read of your suffering and struggling and whilst what you have described could be Fibro symptoms they could also be caused by many other medical conditions including Coeliac Disease. I have pasted the list of symptoms for Coeliac form the *Coeliac UK website:
*Possible symptoms may include:
severe or occasional diarrhoea, excessive wind and/or constipation
persistent or unexplained gastrointestinal symptoms, such as nausea and vomiting
recurrent stomach pain, cramping or bloating
any combination of iron, vitamin B12 or folic acid deficiency
anaemia
tiredness
sudden or unexpected weight loss (but not in all cases)
mouth ulcers
hair loss (alopecia)
skin rash (dermatitis herpetiformis)
tooth enamel problems
depression
liver abnormalities
repeated miscarriages
neurological (nerve) problems such as ataxia (loss of coordination, poor balance) and peripheral neuropathy (numbness and tingling in the hands and feet)
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
