Hello , I've joined this forum as I'm pretty certain i have fibro through my own research. Reamatologist app to come in ñov after a three year of persistently going back and forth to DRS and getting nowhere. My symptoms are mild some days, really bad some days and the odd day pain free when i feel great with loads of energy .my body hurts so much on bad days pain in limbs fingers back legs just like allover sickly ache .i already. Suffer from pernicious anemia, diabetes ,psoriasis and vitiligo. Have recently developed IBS.at 58.my question is ,does anyone have sensitivities to lots of different foods with this,ie wheat lactose sugars medications ,toothpaste etc etc in their mouths and also sensitive to smells.skin sore to the touch on lower back bum area and just generally feeling crap all the time.. these symptoms have got steadily worse over the three yrs to the extent of rarely having a good day. My feet feel as if the bones have been bashed with a hammer. I'm fine when I'm sitting down but even after just five minutes if i try to stand my body is in so much pain till i get going again.fatigue is rediculous of even falling asleep while I'm eating. I also have under active thyroid which has just been checked and stable and a full blood count which does not show anything substantial to be concerned about. I am just so tired of not getting a good night's sleep and when i do ,waking up like I've never slept.. sorry it's so long winded but I'm tired of trying to find out what's going on with my body.

One of my specialists asked by GP to consider me for Fibromyalgia tests - so I bought a book on the subject and as far as I could tell the muscles are in pain as well with this problem - I have tingling in hands and feet that all go dead but I do not have muscle pain with chest and lung pain throughout the night, I feel very tired and week for hours after awaking - so still no diagnosis! - specialists all report in their letters that I look well.

Hi welcome to the friendly Fibro forum.People oversee the posts.

Regarding your issues some do resonate .However you could need Thyriod malfunction can throw up symptoms not necessarily Fibro.

Personally my sense of smell is quite acute.I try and 'live' with IBS with some meds principally Peppermint oil capsules.

Rheumi in November . It depends when as to what you may need now?

Fibro is diagnosed by elimination and medical history in addition to sometimes trying slight pressure on 18 trigger points on the person.

Does any of that help?

Gentle hugs

Welcome. Certainly some of these symptoms appear in people with fibromyalgia and often if blood tests eliminate illnesses that can show some very similar symptoms such as lumpus, RA, etc the diagnosis of fibromyalgia is made As skit says thyroid problems can also mimic fibro. Many of us have IBS me included. Good luck when you see the specialist.x

I have intolerance to meds sugar gluten nicol plasters not sure re milk ok not giving up cheese ibs and the list grows all the time not sure if its a fibto thing as im getting checked for ceoliac and EDS but ive only had fibro diagnosed about 7 years so im still relatively new to what is n isnt fibro related keep persuing answers fibro is so similar to a lot of other conditions Lupus limes disease MS ME and so many others make sure they get it right so if there is a cure of treatment you get the right one. Rhumatology is good but let them make the decision hope you get a thorough one. My last one was just interested in my hands as i have carpol tunnel and raynauds too xxxxx

I think now the appointment is near hopefully the rheumy will be able to give you some answers as you’ve not got anywhere with your gp, some of the symtoms you are saying can go hand in hand with fibro, let us know how the appointment goes , welcome to the forum and if the diagnosis is fibro this a good place to come for a chat, share experiences and tips etc with members, if you would like to lock your posts here’s the link healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., normally generates more privacy x
