hi ,yes and everyone's the same , you have to not do to much they have a good saying on here it's paceing your self ((not sure I spelt that right ,)) I learnt the hard way just like you , so Evan if you feel well you must not think you can be normal , because as you said the next day it bites you on the bum X
I would imagine its the same for Fibro as ME/CFS...treat you're energy as savings in the bank and don't 'spend it all at once'...I find that phrase to be really beneficial although it means the same as pacing.
Yes you can have a great day then the next day your are very tired. Good luck!
Yes sadly we are all the same , if I am not strict with my pacing - my pain comes in with vengeance the next day. !!! - its a real learning curve - x
You're lucky, I don't have any days like that, just tired all the time. But, when my grandson visits it does take my mind of things😊
My physio calls it boom or bust x
Unfortunately it does happen like that, and even the old hands of fibro sometimes forget to pace! If you google "The Spoon Theory" it helps to explain it.
Xx
I've looked st this spoon theory and I don't understand it. How many spoons do u start with? It's very confusing lol
You don't really have to have the spoons physically, you work out how much a job like getting up and showering will cost you in spoons. Taking the dog for a walk could cost you a spoon, playing tennis could cost you more.
Say you start off with 15 spoons, then see how you can sort out your day to still keep hold of one before bedtime, (as getting undressed, locking up the house and making a bedtime drink and letting the dog out could take one).
It really is about pacing. If you know you have a heavy day coming, you could save a couple from the previous day, (in other words don't do as much the day before) and you can borrow a couple from the following day or two, (again, resting up more)
I am sorry if I have not explained it well, this article does a better job than me. butyoudontlooksick.com/arti...
Even us "old hands" sometimes get it wrong though!

Thankyou for all your replies
Hi My-chinaman
I am so genuinely sorry to read this my friend and as the others have said it does appear to be the nature of the beast! I have had to slow right down in my garden and get help with it or else I cannot function. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you

Yes. Indeed that's what I'm facing today. Energy has upped and wented. It's horrid. Plan? Drink lots. Get in shower when I have a smidge of energy and try to battle on. Dunno how that's gonna go but resting is awful. So uncomfortable and leaves me feeling totally aware of how crap I feel. So a gentle pottering day, doing not much.
Hi yes I'm exactly the same. I tend to plan ahead so say I have to go out on a Tuesday and know that I have to drive and have an appointment I have a day of rest the day before and know for a fact that I won't be able to do anything the day after! My best tip for this problem - use a diary or a calendar to plan things out - I couldn't function at all without mine - I always keep a contact name and phone no. written by it if it's an appt as if I have an FM attack and need to cancel everything (which is quite oftenin my case) it's easy for me to call and cancel the appointment. I agree with suzey26j too pacing yourself is a definite!!
Good luck with everything. Hope my top helps.
Love Alex
Definitely! If you overdo things one day you will pay for it the next. Sometimes it takes several days to recover from a particularly busy/ or stressful time.
Yes that is what happens, do that little bit to much house work and wham the next day total pain.
