Can anyone give me any help on how to deal with tinnitus?

The noice in my ears is driving me insane !

I have had fibro for 28 yrs and tinnitus the last 5/6 years .

I try the distraction methods and they have worked in the past but not for the last few weeks .

Thank you x

Mines the same it's really loud at the moment. i have found its gets worse when Im not feeling well which is pretty much all the time. I wear hearing aids and it does help but only if there's noise in the room like a radio or Tv. Its so horrid and I sympathise with you . Sometimes i have to have the volume up so loud to drown the persistent screeching

Hello, how distressing that is for you, especially as you are unable to get on top of it at the moment.

I am not familiar with tinnitus but a friend has it very badly and there are days where she really struggles.

Are you under the care of your doctor or hospital? If so, perhaps they could reassess you and give you different medication or aids to limit the noise.

If you look to the right of your post, you will see Related Posts, where other members have told of their experiences, (you may need to change to landscape if using a phone)

You could also type tinnitus in the search box, top right.

I am sorry I have not been much help to you, I do hope you find a solution soon.

I've Unfortunately had this complaint since I was diagnosed with fibro which is 7 years back now. I have noticed it is worse if I am stressed or when I am worse than usual. My GP told me to mistuned the radio so there is what he called white noise as it helps block it out..

My friend who had it severely and as a consequence started to get bad depression had a masking hearing aid under the NHS. She wore it for about a year and it seemed to retrain her hearing and she only suffers very mildly feommit now.x

Thank you for your replys .the stress bit makes real sense . I recently had an operation to remove my gall bladder also found out my husband has a problem with his heart . But on the bright side my granddaughter is getting married this weekend and at one point thought we may of been unable to go as it is 150 MLS away.

Even when I meditate the noice is still very loud .

I have an appointment with my GP on Thursday I will ask to be referred about hearing aids .

I'm not sure if this link will work, but I've tried this method and it works.. sometimes it just reduces tinnitus or turns it off in one ear. I'm not sure if that is because it's painful to do so many repetitions. Horrible condition 🙁

I have tinnitus which drives me crazy most days. I use a hearing aid in my right ear which helps quite a bit. I also use headphones to watch tv programmes on a tablet because trying to watch tv is just no good at all. I listen to music through headphones and even use a portable music player with ear buds to sleep at night with calming nature sounds playing. I do avoid the water sounds though or I have to keep getting up to go to the toilet.

I hope you find a way to cope. xx

Bacaloca ..I wear headphones to watch TV and listen to soft music .i was wondering if they were making the noises worse ? I also have light music playing for 2 hours while I drift of to sleep.

Thanks again folks you are all great .
