Hello Sturdy
As I understand, our whole system is prone to sensitisation of pain, and perhaps the dental work has caused a flare up? I often find a visit to the dentist triggers TMJ and trigeminal nerve pain. However, I had two upper wisdom teeth removed (lowers are more difficult to,extract so I am guessing more painful after) and I do remember feeling really off and unwell for a couple of days. It was sore and with dull pain, but not agony. . I think if you are still in extreme pain from the extraction then it might be worth getting it checked just to make sure?
I really hope the pain lowers soon. Take care.
Hello Sturdy,Balkis gave you good advice but your pain should slowly subside. Did your dentist give you pain meds or just tell you to take ibuprofen? Pain meds should help!😨 Take care. Chris
Hi Sturdy
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have pasted for you below a link to our mother site, FMA UK which hosts loads of useful Fibro information:
I am so truly sorry to read of the pain from having your wisdom tooth removed and *NHS Choices say:
*Extreme sensitivity
Fibromyalgia can make you extremely sensitive to pain all over your body, and you may find that even the slightest touch is painful. If you hurt yourself – such as stubbing your toe – the pain may continue for much longer than it normally would.
You may hear the condition described in the following medical terms:
hyperalgesia – when you're extremely sensitive to pain
allodynia – when you feel pain from something that shouldn't be painful at all, such as a very light touch
You may also be sensitive to things such as smoke, certain foods and bright lights. Being exposed to something you're sensitive to can cause your other fibromyalgia symptoms to flare up.
I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself my friend.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Hello and welcome
I am sure you will find plenty of information and support here. TheAuthor has sent you a great link.
Good luck on your journey:)
Thanks for your advice I will certainly have a look at the Mother site. I am going back to the dentist tomorrow he was going to fit some dentures! He did say Thursday when he removed the tooth that part of the nerve is still in there but he didn't want to dig around to remove it then as it would be painful, he says as it heals the nerve should naturally push up, he said it shouldn't cause me problems. I didn't tell him I have fibromyalgia, perhaps I should have. Jan
Yes, definitely. Fibromyalgia makes you more sensitive to everything, possibly emotion ally as well from what I've read about others on here as well as myself. Hope you get some pain relief soon, toothache is the worst
