Well I've suffered with depression and fibromyalgia for many years,so I decided to make changes in my life,I decided to get a job only part time just to see if I could actually do it,well I went online filled out the application form and within a few days I done the telephone interview and today I went for an assessment day I was so nervous I nearly wet myself,I nearly fell off the chair when I was offered the job,so when I get a start date I'm going to inform esa/dla,I no I'm going to be in pain but for my mental health I need to do it,I actually feel really good about myself and can't believe what I've achieved,if I can't deal with the job and the pain gets worse well at least I've tried ❤️❤️❤️

Hi there
Many congratulations on getting the job you went for!
Please do come and let us know how you get on. We will all be rooting for you
It may be a good idea to check with Janet our Benefits Adviser when is the best time to let the DWP know that you have a job.
I am just concerned about your benefits being stopped before you are paid by your new employer leaving you a month's money short.
Here are all of Janet's contact details:

Click on the blue line and all of Janet's details will appear.

Congratulations Georgiegirl. Xx
Well done for even trying, good luck too you xxxxxxx
Congratulations on getting that job. I was made redundant last year and did find that my job helped as I did not feel so isolated. The only tips I can give you is put everything up the night before so you don't fill up on junk food and if you get a break make sure you don't try and fill it in will a quick trip to the shops or telephoning. I worked 3 days and on the 4th day I rested as much as possible by doing admin or jobs that I could sit down like a bit of ironing. I find that it used to help if I moved about every hour which was possible in my last job. Good luck and congratulations.
You go girl!!! So chuffed for you. Wishing you all the best in your new job. Xxxxx
That's brilliant. Well done. Hope all goes well for you. xx
Thanks everyone for your kind words ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yay for fibros showing them how it's done!
And of course we all want to know what you're doing and how it's working out, for you and them. I keep hoping that there is a perfect job for us. Maybe you found it?
Did you mention you're a Fibro or are you winging it?
Being useful again will be lovely for you and great to get off benefits, lucky you, but don't forget you must manage your pain.
You do not have to inform DLA. U can work full time with getting DLA as non means tested.
Well done I really admire you as I miss work for so many reasons. Good luck when you start let us know how you get on.x
Well done. Providing the job is not too stressful it has been proved that going to work relieves depression and often clears it altogether. I do realise that people vary with the effects of fibromyalgia/thyroid issues sometimes causing serious problems but personally I found I was better off at work and have missed it very much since being retired. It is good to have a distraction away from health issues, even if muscles/joints or whatever are causing pain unless the severity tells you otherwise.
The practice of Mindfulness has also been proved to help cope with Fibromyalgia pain which can be checked out if you google, perhaps it could help you to cope now you are in a determined frame of mind.
I was watching a young lad today in a large busy department store, he had obvious disfigured disabilities causing an ungainly walk which must cause a lot of discomfort, he was getting on cheerfully with his work, it is people like this who are a good example of coping under difficult circumstances.
I hope you find by moving forward a complete shift in your outlook on life x
Made up for you.. good luck!
I've just made similar decision, time will tell..like u say even with pain it's something to help strenghten you mentally.. you have to try!💕
