hi ive had fibro for 8 months now and tried different medication and have now settled on gabapentin for the restless legs and ibuprofen which helps abit but i have to be careful as i have long qt too. i mostly have the pain in my joints and now ive just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my hip . So stairs and driving are becoming a problem lately especially with the stiffness.

Hello and welcome to our friendly fibro forum where you can get help, advice, support and understanding along with a giggle or two to lighten the day.

I am sorry you are suffering in this way, many of our members suffer from osteo as well, so you are not alone here.

I do hope we find you joining in around the forum further.

Kay

Hello Vicky, late logging on today (had to deal with utilities over estimated bills-nightmare!)I too have OA knees and shoulders, I do have injections now and then, but I have found frequent visits to hydro and to local swimming pool for a dip in the Jacuzzi very helpful for unstiffening! Followed by rubbing in voltarol gel (some use ibuprofen gel) whilst the pours are open and the gel gets into the skin better.. All trial and error to get comfort from these things, Ive been using a TENS machine just above knees I was told by physio to "pump up the muscles" and they will take th strain from the joints,, I,m hoping my muscles look like Rafael Nadals by next year!!! (I wish)
