Hello there, Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I am 35, diagnosed with Fibro in 2011, but reckon I have had it since about 2000. There is no doubt it has been a progressive downward trend in terms of my health, but this has been slow.....and punctuated by stints of better health. I was working until last May, when it became unsafe for me to continue and have been in the assessment phase of ESA. Was due my assessment last week, but they cancelled it when I got there, as they had too many people, and not enough staff.......Rescheduled for the 23rd now.......Having a relapse at the moment so feeling a little sorry for myself. Have the shakes, bad parathesia, not sleeping, appalling pain that is not relived by codeine and utterly exhausted.....so I thought I would join and get (and give) a little support.......but I am taking so much joy from the incoming spring, the daffodils and birds singing. Sending you all good vibes and hope you are all getting a little sunshine on your faces....... xxx Lou

Oh, it's horrible isn't it. A vicious cycle that goes round and round......less sleep more pain....more pain less sleep.......but last night I put the computer away at 9pm, burnt some lavender oil, and did some meditation, and things were a little better. I hope you find some relief too. xx

Hi looking2282 welcome to our friendly group. Sorry you have fibro.

It is quite stressful going through esa and I'm sorry you had your appointment cancelled. A lot of us have been through the same.

It does help talking to people who suffer the same and I have found this group invaluable.

Come along and chat, ask questions or have a rant there is always someone around.

Someone from admin will be along to welcome you and give you links to helpful info.

Good luck and take care.

Angie xx

It tends to be a bit quiet over the weekend xx

Hi and Welcome! I am sorry you are not feeling great. I am having yet another flare-up at the moment and at times it really gets me down also. It is such a weird debilitating condition. You are so young to have this! Looking back I am sure I have had this since my 30's but didn't know till diagnosed in 2010, Im in my early 60's now.

I blamed the menopause and all sorts lol! till I eventually took myself after years and years of putting up with it to the GP and was diagnosed fortunately right away. It is so hard during flare-ups and I find my hot water bottles are the best for me. Pain meds I think only take the edge of it and different Fibro sufferers use different things. I get the Fibro UK monthly magazine with helpful information and our fibro family on this site are very good with help and advice. A friend advised I take Turmeric capsules 400mg one twice a day after meals, she has had great relief but so far I haven't noticed any real change as yet.

Dr thought I had IBS but since meds have changed and going gluten free most of the time it has been fine. I have read that Fibro sufferers should try and avoid wheat so you may want to give this a try. To be honest we are all so different in what helps but I am sure like most of us you would try anything especially during flare-ups. I hope you feel better soon. Take Care x
