Hi, All Had My Medical/Assessment Jan 10th 2017 Its Now 23/02/2017 And No Decision As Yet. What I Don`t Get Is The fact That You Still Have To, Make Job Searches And Applications. Even Though You Don`t Know If Your Fit For Work Or Not. Surely It Would Make Sense To Suspend This Until Decision Is Made. But Then We Are Dealing With The Department For Woeful Practices. All I Got From The Assessor, Was Don`t Think You Can Do That, To Every, Work Opportunity I Put Forward.

Hi Fedup63 Is it esa you are applying for or jsa.
You can get a sick note from doctor to sign you of sick for up to 13 weeks on jsa or until they make a dicision on Esa.
Good luck and take care.

Hi angiesmith50 Appreciate Your Reply, To Explain. I Had A Work Related Accident Involving My Right Hand Being Crushed In A Conveyor.[Nip Point] And Have Been Signed Off Sick With Radial Damage To Hand, All Relevant Medical Information Was Passed To Medical Examiner At ESA Assessment, Have Provided Sick Notes All Through This Period. But Under New Laws The DWP Say You Have To Be Actively Seeking Work Even Though You Are Signed Off Work, Does`nt Make Any Sense At All To Me, Whilst In Assessment Phase. Hope I Have Explained Myself. Angie And Thanks Again For Reply.
I'm currently on assessment rate Esa and awaiting my f2f. I have not been told to activily look for work x
J.S.A Does Not Exist Anymore, It`s Universal Credit Now, Had My f2f On Jan 10th, Rang ESA Last Week And Was Told Decision Maker Has Had My Claim Since Feb 3rd, Have Never Claimed Esa B4 Have Worked All My Life, So All New To Me. I Have To Do Work Search And Attend Every 2 Weeks And Have My Work Search Verified And Provide Sick Note From My Dr. That`s What Confuses Me, What Is Point Of Sick Note, if It Is Ignored By DWP.
Hi while they are making the decision if you have a sick note in you don't have to atten anything at all.
By going and searching and attending every two weeks you are your self saying you are fit for work.
Please seek advice from CAB things have changed so much.
All I know my hubby was sign off sick and they were looking at his case and he refused to go, still got paid while sick notes was in but this was 18 months ago.
All the very best.
I had my medical 27/09/2016 I got my result on the 10/01/2017 the medical was 8 months late then 3 months later I get the result which was I only scored six points so they stopped all my benefits , they rung me and told me , I told them I have been trying to get in the support group since 2015 and they keep refusing it and that I think the reason why I failed the medical is because they know by putting me in the support group they will have to pay me a large chunk of money that's why I was refused,
They told me I was 100 percent right and my proof was in the paper work they are sending me , when I received it the clinician I saw at the medical had put completely false information down , I asked for a mandatory reconsideration and informed my local mp and he wrote to them to , I complained to the company of the medical assessment c h d a who wrote back and confirmed with me the information the clinician put was mostly false and they have reported him, my mandatory reconsideration was reversed and my money put back in place , but they still won't put me in the support group so I am now taking that part to appeal with all my proof, you can also complain to dwp ice they are dwp independant complaints examiner , look them up on google , but good luck any way
Hi Fedup63 welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.
It does help with the whole process and I wish I had found the site years ago. I have had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs and I'm still learning about it, like we all are
As you say, who knows why dwp does anything it does & i spoke to someone only today from ESA that completely agreed with how confusing the whole system is and very stressful for people that are in ill health already. It's very frustrating 😠
Please do go look at the mother site where you will find all the information you need and lots of useful links on Fibro and I look forward to chatting to you on the forum.
Peace, luv n light
Jan ☺

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi. Have you rang then to see if they have made their decision. I had my assessment on 31 January and I rang them earlier this week, they gave me the decision over the phone but the letter did arrive in post that day to. It's worth a try.
