Tooting a flute

Happy New Year to one and all.

This is a quickie: been having a little trouble bringing up the rubbish and fell to having a look for Lung Flutes. Can anyone tell me where I can get one that doesn't cost half a week's pension?

Ted x

Hi edwardo

I am sorry but I have no idea what a Lung Flute is.

I am wondering if you have come to this site by mistake as I have seen on your profile that you are a member of the Lung Foundation site.

I wish you well in your endeavours, now I think I will look up what a Lung Flute is :)

Sorry Ted can't find one under £59 ish. There are some firms who do the 30 day guarantee do if it doesn't help at least you get your money back x

Hi edwardo

I am presuming that you have COPD my friend? As rosewine says, the cheapest online average at £59.95, so they are not cheap. It may help to scour ebay and / or amazon to ascertain if they do a cheap one? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck my friend and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Thanks Ken. Yes I am a COPDer of some years standing (actually quite a lot of lying down too).

It's looking more like I'm going to have to take a hammer to the piggy. There's a hint of the obsessional about my quest: I've not read a negative review of the efficacy of this unlikely piece of equipment.

Thanks for your consideration,

Regards, Ted.

Since our exchange Ken, I continued with my quest but a little niggle kept nudging my mind. I found myself on the Respiratory Update site. And there it was. In their review of "flutter" therapy for mucus production a contraindication for patients with pneumothorax! I had one back in March. I'd better consult the respiratory specialist to get a view. Frustration!!

Regards Ted.

Hi again edwardo It would probably be best to talk to them first then? I can genuinely understand your frustration my friend. I am also a COPDer, and was diagnosed quite a few years ago. I have a nebuliser, a C-PAP and 3 different inhalers along with a maintenance dose of 10mg Prednisolone daily. Good luck my friend.

All my hopes and dreams for you
