Hi can anyone help me please I applied for pip at the start of October 2016 and I went for my face to face assessment on the 9th december 2016. I then got a letter on the 16th December 2016 saying I have been awarded the standard rate daily living of £55.10 a week and I got the enhanced rate mobility of £57.45 a week then this it what it says on the letter (we will pay £112 into my account on 22 December 2016 this is the money they owe me from 9th December to 15th December (which I did recieve) we will then pay your benefit into your account every 4 week in arrears on a Friday) does this mean I will get paid 4 weeks money on the 13th January 2016 and will I get backdated money from October from when i first made my claim it is confusing me I've read online that I will get backdated and some others say I won't. If I do get backdated when will it be please and also before I applied I have never had or applied for pip or dla

I don't know how it works with PIP but when I claimed ESA they backdated it to the date I first claimed minus the first 7 days because you can't get sick pay for your first 7 days so they don't pay you benefits for that week either.

You should then receive payments 4 weeks after your previous payment. But if you think you're owed back payments then check with them. They won't admit to underpaying you but are quick to claim it back if they've paid too much!

I would ring them up (I know it's a pain trying to get through) if it will put your mind at rest. No sense stressing if you don't need to.

You should get it back dated from when you first applied.

Hi Betty29 You would have received your benefit payments early if they’re due between 23 December 2016 and 2 January 2017. If they were going to give you back pay I'm pretty sure you would have got it with or before your 1st payment. I would 1st give them a call as artymum suggests & see what they say and go from there my friend, you can also give CAB a call as they will advise you. I'm afraid Janet (the sites benefit advisor) is off for a bit.

Here is link to her contact details

Hi

you should receive 4 weekly payment for PIP 13/1/2107

But yes you should be paid from date you made phone call to claim PIP

I would check your bank account as often payments are made before Clint receive letters

Hi Betty29

I can see that you have had your question answered so I will simply and sincerely wish you all the best of luck my friend, and please take care of yourself. If you have not heard form them by the time of your next payment I would ring the DWP and ask about it? Good luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi, I was awarded standard rate a few years back. At the time there was a huge backlog and my claim took over a year to process. I was given back pay for nearly a whole year and this was automatic. I believe you should receive pay from the date you completed the phone assessment. Good luck x

You will receive a further payment 4 weeks after the payment you received on 22 December.and then every 4 weeks after that. They are not paying you back pay because if they where that would have ben included in the payment of 22nd December

Hi. My pip was backdated from the date I first applied for it
