Burning pain on skin by left side ribs on back..

So last night I felt burning pain on my skin on my left rib cage that woke me up because the pain was so bad. It actually still hurts. I haven't officially been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I'm contemplating going to the ER. I just don't know if this burning sensation is due to one of my other organs being inflammed, etc... Has anyone else experience his type of burning pain on the skin near there ribs specifically on their back? I'm not sure what to do...

Hi it would not do any harm having it checked out. At least put your mind at ease and get something for the pian.

Is it possible to get to the doctors .

Take care wishing you all the best

Hi jcsvip

Welcome to the forum :)

Are you having investigations for Fibromyalgia or are you just thinking that that is what your symptoms are adding up to?

What other symptoms do you suffer from?

If you take a look at our website you will find a list of the most common symptoms that people with Fibromyalgia suffer with fmauk.org

I think it would be a good idea to make an appointment to see your GP and ask for a referral to see a Rheumatologist.

They are the Consultants that specialise in Fibromyalgia.

Please feel free to stay with us, you may come across some posts and information that helps you.

Wishing you less pain and more peace

Hi there,

Im going to make an apt to see my GP, hopefully he can refer me to a rheumatologist. Im basically feeling every symptom on the website and my symptoms seem to get worse before menstration. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Anyways thanks for the advice.

Hi jcsvip

I am so genuinely sorry to read this and it could be caused by a great many conditions from Fibro through to nerve issues or Costochondritis, to name a few. I have pasted you a link below to the NHS Choices cache on Costochondritis and see if this sounds like what you are experiencing:

Either way, I would talk to your doctor about this just to get other medical conditions ruled out of the equation. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck my friend, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
