sleep
Unfortunately yes for fibro peeps...When we go to sleep (eventually!) our pain kicks in so we don't get relaxing restorative sleep so we end up totally kn.......d....I take Amitriptyline early evening which certainly helps my sleep. I am sure your GP could suggest something for you...xx
Hi edwa113
Here is a copy of a reply I posted for someone recently. I was still wide awake at 3.45am this morning!
I hope this explanation helps a little:
This is what a Rheumatologist explained to me about Fibromyalgia. Unfortunately I don't have the scientific bit, but hopefully this will make some sense.
Lack of Restorative Sleep is the main CAUSE of Fibromyalgia.
"Normal" people get Restorative Sleep most nights. In order to achieve Restorative Sleep you need to enter REM sleep.
You need to sleep, without waking up once, for four hours before you enter REM sleep. You then need to remain asleep (again without waking) for a further 2 hours.
Whilst you are in REM sleep all the regeneration of new cells and general healing process happens.
After achieving REM sleep "normal" people awake refreshed and ready for the new day.
Because the majority of us that suffer with Fibromyalgia wake many times during the night we do not get REM sleep and therefore have a very good chance of developing Fibromyalgia.
Obviously there are other factors for example stress and trauma, but the lack of sleep is the main one.
Wishing you much peace
Lu xx
I'm sorry that your having sleeping issues. Your body heals itself during sleep, so lacking sleep can send one down a rough path.
Try rubbing deluded (with distilled water ) magnesium chloride oil on sore areas. Magnesium is a relaxant and I feel I fall asleep easier when I use it. But honestly juicing changed my sleeping. Before I tried juicing my sleep was horrific and was only getting worse.
But when I started juicing all that changed. Juicing, stretching, soft exercises, massage/foam rolling intermittent rest, listening to my body. Those are the things that seem to help me the most.
I hope you find something to help you.
Take care×××
Unfortunately it is no sleep or loads either way the pain is still there just easier to cope with if you get a sleep , people often find it strange to have insomnia and fatigue syndrome then sleep for days and then still be tired
Sleep the final frontier for FM. I wake up several times at night then aching and tired in the morning. I think my main sleep is between 2-3am and 6-8am.
Hi edwa113
Apart from my Fibro that leaves me tired, I also suffer with sleep apnoea. This absolutely exhausts me at times. I have pasted you the link to the NHS Choices cache on this issue:

It may be something to discuss with your doctor if you recognise the symptoms? I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
