Hi

This could be temporomandibular jaw disease/syndrome, TMJ. which is quite common with fibro.

If it becomes painful or you cannot open and close your jaw properly then you need to see your GP. Sometimes your dentist can help by making a special plate to wear at night to stop you grinding your teeth.

If you google TMJ you will find more information.

Hope this helps

My jaw had always popped when I opened my mouth fully, if that's what you are talking about. When I was a a young teen I would shape my mouth and make different pitched sounds with it :).

My chiropractor has actually adjusted it before and it felt pretty good.

Not sure if that is the same as yours.

Yeah actually I have it a lot talk to your Dr or dentist and see about getting an x-ray or mri done on the joints. I could be what I have, which was a swollen disc popping out or the gap in which the disc sits in could be to big which causes it to go in and out. if it's the former there is a minor op they can do to reduce the swelling which will stop the cracking if it's the latter however they can't fix that without a 6 hour long op where they break your jaw lots. they won't do that one unless they really have to.

Hi buddymac48 yes mine does sometimes but my daughters is permanently & pains in jaw also. We think my daughter has Fibro although she hasn't had a diagnosis and she has had load of problems with her jaw it really locks up & she can't open it wide at all but when she could it used to crack all the time.

Peace, luv n light

Hi, I also had this. I'd be eating something and without warning my jaw would make this loud crack and boy was it painful. It started happening more so saw my GP. Was advised to do a bunch of exercises like - with the mouth closed jut the lower jaw in and out, there were some others as well but cannot remember them. The problem went away thank goodness. Think it was called what bluebelle 99 said.

Hi my friend

I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you are looking for. Mine cracks quite a lot but it is not painful for me. I do have bad arthritis and brittle bone disease and I think mine is related to that?

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken
