Hi

PIP is not awared on your illnesses but on what help you need to remain independent

eg you can have two people who are diabetic

1 maintains good blood sugar levels and has a healthy diet and able to administer their insulin injection .

2 Doesn't understand what to eat and is unable to cook unaided due to having hypos so not safe to be unattended in the kitchen . They need prompting to administer injections and due to poor dexterity is unable to do it themselves .

So same illness but only one needs support

As Rose54 says it is how your illness affects you in everyday life. It does seem though from posts on the forum that if you have several illnesses that compound the problems we already have with fibro it does seem to make proving we need help. Good luck.x

Hi

As well as looking at the related posts, type PIP in the search box where you will find more information, also the Topics in blue, Benefits and work.

There are a couple of must do's

Do not go alone, take a neighbour if desperate, you need someone to carry your bag with your information in, also to help you out of the chair etc.

Do not go by Public Transport and remember you will be under surveillance from the car park before you go in until the time you leave.

Do reacquaint yourself with everything you wrote on the form, you will be asked the same question but worded differently

Good Luck!

Hi , I've received pip for my fibromyalgia, I also have mental health issues. When you go for your assessment, telll them your worst days possible and don't let them talk down to you. Hope this helps

hello lovely, i recently had my own assessment apart from Fibro i've got other issues. for PIP it is about how your disability affects you. i had my husband with me but they mainly want to see if you as affected as you claim to be, be straight forward, not too much story but repeat to them many times what you can't do and remember to tell them you are on a good day for that day.. wish you luck, i'm still waiting my results...xx

Hi yes they do my doctor sent letter saying about fibo. But they ask for a letter to say about pain and fibo fog cognictive. You think they would no this as it all part of fibo if you get doctor to decribe your pain and fibo fog in writing so you have proof good luck
